I bought this for a car camping trip. I had a friend’s bf install it. I had to find a YouTube video to figure it out, instructions weren’t super helpful. As others have stated, the included hardware isn’t all you’ll need. I had a friend help me set it up and break it down twice, then had no problem doing it myself after a few tries. It looks cool and is well made. The material seems durable and the Velcro isn’t f’ing around! It’s pretty lightweight and I loved that it comes with a bag attached for storage. It perfectly fit over the passenger door and takes up zero space to store. I added a few outdoor area rugs (which helped me set it up and break it down) and it was perfect! The pre drilled holes make it easy to know where to fit the poles. This helped make my first solo trip a success! ... show more

It’s a great Awning for the price. So I’m some of the other reviews, there are a lot of complaints about the mounting hardware. It is impossible for these products to be one size fits all. So, if you are intending on purchasing this Awning, be aware that you'll be doing some modifications. First, do some homework, if you have a round roof rack system installed on your vehicle, this mounting kit is worthless. Second, if you have a flat type roof rack system, it would work, but just an ugly site. Third, if you have the Thule Roof Rack Evo System as I do, you'll need to purchase the Thule Awning Mounting Kit. Then with that kit, I did some modifications to ensure the awning is properly secured and would be functional. I read a lot reviews before purchasing this particular awning. I didn’t go with a popular name brand awning because of the price point. The material on this awning is durable and thick. Check out the mil thickness on other brands on Amazon and you will see this is one of the thicker materials. The poles are ok. They are easy to deploy and twist lock at the desired height. I don’t care for the pegs on the ends because if you’re on harder ground they won’t go in. I’m thinking of making a square foot out of scrap wood with a hole for the pole pegs. The company could have created a small flat rectangular foot for the pole bases vs the peg. Deploying and storing the awning isn’t bad. With two people it’s a breeze but one person would not be too challenging. If your roll ends up a little uneven it doesn’t take much to push your ends in to make the roll even. There are 2 extra poles in the base of the system. The only thing I can figure out is if you take the system off your vehicle you can set up the awning with 4 poles. There isn’t anything in the instructions explaining those extra poles. The case seems very durable. It’s thick and has a heavy duty zipper. The awning fits in there with ease and you don’t have to squeeze it together to close the system. I haven’t noticed any leaks from rain for the few months I’ve had the system. I have also taken the vehicle on a road trip and didn’t notice alot of wind noise from the system. I have it on a full size SUV with a Yakima round bar system. It installed easily with the components provided. Would I buy it again? Sure but for a full size truck I would go up a size. Overall, I’m pleased with the system. I had a cheaper version of this exact style installed on my bus and although it did work well, it just didn’t have a quality feel to it and it didn’t last more than a year before parts started breaking .. right out of the box this one is definitely made better and I have it installed and have used it one time so far and it is definitely better quality.. my only concern in the Velcro straps that are seen into the canvas that strap onto the metal poles on the side .. no issues at all yet but they are a lot of stress and I’m hoping the canvas will hold up to that stitching .. I may try and add an extra iron on patch over it to give it strength ... show more

Love that it deploys FAST! I have a little step stool that puts me up close to it and it's up in no time. I also have the front panel and one side panel and those were easy to deploy. Love It! Would buy again! Now the bad on the install....The hardware that came with the awning was not that bad, but the nylon 'lock' nuts froze when I tried to bolt them on which ended up completely stripping the inside aluminum body of the mount making it useless. I also had to cut the bolt off which was ridiculous because of my roof rack, it should have been in place in 30 minutes. I would recommend NOT using the nyloc nuts, go to your local hardware store and get good quality, regular hardware with lock washers and lock tite. ... show more

Purchase your own washers, lock washers, bolts, and nuts. The nylon ones provided are junk and cross thread when loosing them to adjust the canopy position when mounting. I used Gobi ARB mounts so I can’t speak for the ones provided. Bag and zippers appear strong. Canopy should have been double stitched and multi layered in some spots, especially where the Velcro is. Legs lock by turning and appear to be flimsy. I do not see this as a multi year lasting product. I think I will return and seek out others of better build quality. For a season of camping, it’s probably a great purchase. ... show more
