This is nice looking and easy set up. Had a ring doorbell already. This is a newer version. The online set up was very easy. However, reason for less stars is whoever thought it was a good idea to move the two screws for the wired doorbell to the actual doorbell instead of leaving on the back plate needs to be fired! Can not even hook them up because there is t enough room and mine did not come with the extended wires as mentioned in the set up video. The view is far superior to the old version and much clearer. However, If the older version was available in bronze I would return this one. Otherwise works as described. ... show more

This Ring door bell works really well and provides a very extensive view. It is a battery doorbell that can also be hard wired. If it is hardwired, it can operate your existing chime. There is no need to buy a Ring chime unless you want some of the features that the Ring Chime has.

A few days ago my old Ring v2 stopped providing camera views. I purchased the newest Ring doorbell (2024) version, successfully connected it to the network - according to the setup confirmation - only to see that it shows "Offline" aka unconnected in the app. I tried a couple of different WiFi networks to no avail. Using the Ring app, I could see the battery charge, etc but was unable to see a live camera view. I contacted Ring tech support but still couldn't get this resolved. Ring setup in the past has always been very quick and easy, so not sure what's going on. Finally, earlier today I learned of another Ring doorbell user in a different city that could not access their live view as well. Not sure what their version is or why that was happening. Before this experience I would have rated Ring a solid 5 stars. Just not sure what's going on now. ... show more

Amazon feedback: 3 stars I had ordered a wired doorbell with chime. It got accidentally returned with another item. Amazon took the note of it, promised to return it as soon as it gets processed in their return center & didnt do anything about it. I waited for a month and later followed up with CS. They were nice enough to send me a replacement, as items that go to their warehouse is like going to blackhole. Anyways, I went to setup & found that my house door bell doesnt have wiring! Again returned. Then I decided to buy this as it runs on battery. Doorbell: Like other Ring products, this door bell comes in nice clean box with all the required accessories. Setting up was a breeze. Charged it up & mounted on given bracket in no time. The door bell allows many customizations wrt motion detection as well as integrate these customizations to the ring security system mode. I dont want to explain much into my home security configuration, but overall the camera gets added to existing system seamlessly. The battery life is something I am curious about as well. I will update the review if that drains too fast. I ended up ordering some more Ring stick on cameras. Lol. ... show more

During the day this ring doorbell is awesome. You have a wider view all around. But at night, the view and clarity dimishes around the edges of the camera. You'll need to leave your porch light on through the night if you want to ensure any captured activity is clear. I don't have this issue with my other two Ring doorbells (both are 2nd gen). Update 09/29/24 Amilia, Executive Community Support Representative, from Ring Help Center contacted me personally to address the issues I had with my Ring doorbell. Thanks to Amilia for going above and beyond to solve these issues! She followed up several times to ensure my Ring doorbell did not have any other issues. My Ring doorbell is working great now. Changed my review rating from 4 stars to 5. 😃 ... show more
