  • Perfect for beginning the journey
These flash cards are great for helping my little pianist become familar with the notes of the piano and theory of music.

  • Helpful for testing/ reviewing music theory
These are yet another tool to get the information into the brain. As a beginning piano student they follow along with the Alfred's basic piano course lesson book level 1.

  • An excellent addition to the Alfred's piano course
This helped my students so much in their ability to read notes and music. Highly recommend adding to your music library. There are notes on each card saying where each concept was first introduced in the Alfred Piano series. Highly highly recommend

  • Very basic. Does not include notes for entire clef. Would recommend getting different ones.
This set really is for beginners. It has a picture of the different type of notes (quarter, whole, etc.) all the different signs (rest, 3/4, 4/4, crescendo, etc.) It also has the flashcards for the notes, it does not include the entire base and treble clef. My set went from low A, up to about D on the treble clef. I wanted ones that also include the notes beyond the clef (high or low C for example). Also, it has some of the keys, but it only included 2 of them, only C and G Major. I was very disappointed that it did not include all of the main keys. The paper is thick and the size if good (easy to read), but there are more than 100 cards, and they are all loose. I thought some king of clip or ring would be helpful. Also, there is one hole at the tip middle, a horrible place if I were to clip them together. ... show more

  • Perfect for my needs
I am an adult relearning to play piano Suzuki method. I am advancing rapidly and relearning to read music as I did when i was younger . I put them on a binder ring and can flip thru them to speed up my note recognition, and all the other signs in music. Size easy to read . Great for child or adult to learn or refresh reading skills . ... show more

  • Basic Piano Toolkit Essential
These flashcards are the most basic element of my toolkit as a piano teacher. No matter which lesson book my students are using, these cards supplement their learning and increase their music literacy. By recognizing the written notes and immediately knowing the corresponding key, their ability to read a new piece of music is enhanced, in the same way that we learn to read and sound out our letters before learning to read words. Over time, you no longer stop to sound out each word but can simply read it off the page. The same process occurs with note-reading and soon the process of figuring out which note it is, figuring out which key goes with it, then playing becomes as fluent as reading letters off a page. I recommend the John W. Schaum series of piano method books, but when a student has had prior lessons with a different teacher, we just continue in whichever books they've already purchased. These cards allow us to fill in any gaps in their learning in these situations. There is a measurable increase in fluency and speed of reading when these cards are used as part of the basic regimen both in lessons and during their at-home practice time. ... show more

  • Makes learning easier.
The flash cards are perfect for anyone trying to learn the piano and all the keys and what the notes look like. This is a great tool!
