Nice design, as most Alessi items are. However, I was surprised that the base of the dish is actually plastic and not glass. It is thick plastic, but I'm sure it will scratch with the years. Overall, it is very cute and our family enjoys our buttered toast just that little bit more because of it.

I own this cute butter boat in pale yellow/green. I gave the black/clear one as a gift after mine was admired. I love the whimsical shape and motif, but was dismayed that the black/clear option was considerably more expensive. I would have liked a spot of color for pop... perhaps the handle could have been in color. I use mine for butter, new owner uses hers for cream cheese! ... show more

this dish is well made. even though its not glass, it has that durable, thick feel. i love this dish, but could be improved with a) a longer knife insert and b) a way to prevent butter from getting everywhere when you put the lid back on.

I love this butter dish. I saved up for a yellow and green on from a Dali exhibit in philadelphia. Our dog got a hold of it and killed my butter dish. I wanted the orange one, but a blue one arrived. I wish i had the orange one. I dont know who to contact. 😕
