I love my new bed. As long as you know how to follow the given directions, it can be put together by two people (without experience) in about 2-3 hours. My only complaint is that the drawers underneath it aren’t very sturdy, but the rest of the bed is.

The media could not be loaded. I've put together a good deal of furniture and this was one of the hardest pieces and instructions to follow, including the quality of the material. The idea is super, but the function is not. Several predrilled holes were off, hardware screws subpar, instructions vague, and drawers/pull out parts fell apart after first use. I tightened the screws correctly and they came loose and don't grab the screw and fit the spot for the drawer front. The pictures are what's happened when u used the drawer for the first time. A twin mattress doesn't fit comfortably and there is a big gap so that will be an issue with use and things falling down the side. I wanted to love this product, but I would not recommend this bed. I would have returned it if I hadn't been so exasperated putting it together. The thought of packing it all back up and taking it apart made me want to cry. I didn't want to look at it and the cost was far too high for the quality. ... show more

Not the strongest and pieces aren’t all labeled but with common sense it comes together fairly easy. Took me about 2 1/2 ours just because there’s so many screws and I laid all the pieces out organized 1st. It does what it is supposed to do, and if you do the 6 inch memory foam mattresses it works perfect to stack them on top of each other when it is a daybed and very comfortable when it is a king bed. The base that the drawers are in pull straight out and they even thought of stoppers so that you can’t over pull it to create the king bed. It is low to the ground but super cute and great storage! It’s like an IKEA product: you’re going to love and hate it at the same time. Assembly was not fun. Five hours later, the frame is pretty much put together with the exception of the drawers. We left the drawers alone for a couple weeks because we’d had our fill of assembling a huge piece of furniture to last the rest of our lives. All through the process we wondered why we needed a bed that could magically turn from a king to a twin. At least my mom was impressed when she saw it. It creaks and the paint is not thick; you can see the knots in the wood. The outer pieces look flimsy but the whole thing stays together somehow. I wondered again why we’d gotten rid of the bed frame we built using 2x6’s and a Kreg jig. The drawers were finally put together but they don’t stay together. The front pieces want to come off so we’ll have to gorilla glue or wood glue them and hope they don’t fall apart. All this for $400?! Please don’t purchase this new. Look for a used one (buy mine, please!) so you get all the benefits of this frame without losing your mind first. ... show more

Building the bed: this was a bit more challenging and took more time than advertised, but instructions were clear and the result was great! The under-bed storage is a fantastic feature. We have laughed often since using this guest bed: the smiling woman in the "demo video" single-handedly (literally) pulls out the drawers and flips the mattresses to set up the bed. Easy-breezy. In our experience, this is a two-person task that includes a lot of grunting. The bed is quite attractive as a daybed/couch in our guest room as well. ... show more

    • Takes hours to assemble and function is disappointing

It is junk. The slats are cheap soft wood and the screws pull eaaily. It is difficult to pull the trundle without pieces pulling out of the wood. It looks nice after assembly until it's time to pull the bed into the double twin position.

I read the reviews and thought "yeah, but I'm an aerospace enginee, surely a rocket scientist can put it together faster". So I started a stop watch on the phone, cracked open the box, and low and behold, 2 hours and 41 minutes. Seriously. The concern isn't the instructions, they are very clear. It's actually the pieces themselves. The vertical slats don't fit in the pre bored holes. It too nearly 30 minutes alone to bore out the 12 holes to fit the six slats. Other than that, it's a LOT of screws. Bed is nice, decent quality for my 4 year old. It's Brazilian pine, not particle board, but I still have concerns about putting too much weight on it. The drawers are very big. Nice product for the price. If I didn't have to bore the holes out, I would have gone 5 stars. Cheers! ... show more
