It's very thick, solid, heavy wood, and well built. The only criticisms I have are that the top is very, very rough, so if you want to keep it clean, you may end up varnishing it. I ordered two of these tables as end tables a long with a 42” coffee table. All advertised as brown. The quality is great, tables are very sturdy but the attention to the color detail was not. My coffee table arrived in brown as advertised but the end tables arrived in a natural wood finish but was advertised as brown. I returned the two and ordered a second set and the same thing occurred. Contacted Amazon to show that listing should be changed. Now having custom tables to match my coffee table. Quality control for advertised color is not great coco color vs natural on three pieces is not consistent and to boot twice ordered. If your looking for a natural wood golden color these tables are for you but if your expecting brown as advertised good luck. ... show more

This table is perfect for a small room or apartment. I have a decent size living room and the table seems pretty small for it. It's VERY heavy. My previous wood with glass table seems much lighter and it was bigger. I read reviews before purchasing and was not surprised by the texture, feels somewhat like you'd expect a coaster to feel. I want something that I don't need to worry about spills on so I did a couple coats of polyurethane before putting together and it was perfect. It was kind of expensive for a tiny coffee table, but I just had to have it. The style and size are what I wanted. It appears to have a weird finish, almost like soaked in a preservative. Overall we are quite satisfied with the piece now that it's together. With that said, assembly was more of a hassle than expected. One of the metal legs was covered in a white powdery substance. Mildew I assume. And the holes that the bolts go into to secure the legs to the table tops were way to large, almost the size of the bolt heads. I had to fuss with this to insure that the table was perfectly square and evenly proportioned once it was assembled. Without some patience and a tape measure this thing could be built rather crooked. This coffee table is perfect if you’re looking for a rustic looking and heavy coffee table. It’s solid wood (mins the metal legs). Very easy and quick to put together. Really nice reclaimed wood table. Much nicer than I expected based on some of the reviews. The surface of the table has been finished enough that it has a somewhat hardened smooth surface. There are imperfections here and there that provide the uniqueness that reclaimed would should have. The wood is also very thick, maybe 1.5-1.75 inches.
