    • Awesome wireless mic option for mobile DJing
I've used a budget wired mic for the last 6 years as a DJ I was typically doing college frat/sorority parties and formals and rarely MCing/making announcements, but as I've started doing weddings this year I decided to get a wireless mic for toasts and general mobility. This thing is a champ... the quality is world's above the budget wired mic for not that much more money. The setup is incredibly easy and the only time the audio dropped out was when I was DJing a wedding out on the beach and had the speakers/receiver set up a fair distance away from the ceremony. There were two 1 second drop outs at that distance (between 100-150 ft away) during the 25 min ceremony. Other than that moment, I haven't had any drop outs on any of the other gigs I've DJed where the mic has been less than 100 ft away. On my budget wired mic, I had a ton of problems with feedback and had to constantly monitor the levels on my mixer to drop the volume to stop the feedback whenever it started up. I haven't had any feedback issues with this mic at all... even when the speaker passes close in front of the speakers. This has made me feel much more comfortable with speaking and having others speak. In fact, in some of my more informal recent gigs where all of the group knows each other, having the wireless mic on the table has spurred impromptu karoake/sing-along with people the crowd. In the past that may have made me cringe as I was a no-mic kinda DJ, but recently it has led some parties to sort of drive themselves. Honestly, this mic is gold for anybody looking for a quality but inexpensive option for a wireless mic. Pros: -Unbeatable price for an entry level wireless mic -Easy setup -Reliable at reasonable distances -Used it in many different situations/areas and haven't experienced any issues with other signals on the same frequency bleeding in -Have not experienced feedback issues Cons: -Experienced a few dropouts at longer distances, but wasn't a show stopper by any means -This mic picks up a lot of handling noise. I haven't really found a good way to hold it to avoid this other than not moving your hands around on the mic. Unknowns: -Durability. I've had it for a couple months now and it still works great, but it has only been dropped once. Not sure how it will be after a few more inevitable drops. ... show more

    • Works Generally Fine, with Some Limitations
The item is easy to set up, since there are few things to configure. The battery door is a little bit tricky, so you need to be careful to put it back without breaking it. The microphone has a good weight, so it is not too heavy, also not feeling cheap. The volume control is a good feature. Range is good in a typical house. One downside is it should have come with a cable with 1/4" connectors to the receiver or Karaoke. The cable is not missing, but simply not included. I ended up buying it separately. In one setting, I also got the feedback, and had to fine tune the volume to get rid of it. One of our users complained that the sound is not as full as a wired microphone. This is a seriously awesome wireless mic for the money. It has a great frequency range that doesn't chop the top end like many low end mics do. I have used two of these for several years now and they work perfectly. I bought a 3rd because after spending nearly $400 "higher end " wireless system , I was disappointed to find it faulted in the same places this little unit does. The one thing I love is the battery life on one single double A , It's seriously like 30 hours on a bad day.It like any wireless unit has a limit on range, but it is equally as good as some top shelf products. ... show more

This mic paired with a balanced mic cable gives a very good sound for the amateur karaoke singer! I purchased several different mics and this is the best for the price. AKG also makes a duo set...2 mics with one receiver (US45AC)- which can be used with the US45B with no interference (they are different frequencies). If you have 3 inputs in your device, I would buy them separately. I used the A/C with a Y- mic cord along with the B mic and the B mic's sound was much fuller. However, if you only have 2 mic inputs, then it will be just fine. Note:this is the B mic that can be used along with the duo set. ... show more

Customer service was GREAT. Initially I received the wireless system and it DOA, I contacted Amazon, they cross-shipped a new one before I sent the non working system back. I bought this mic for djing purposes. I used it at a wedding a few weeks ago and it worked great. It was almost a little too sensitive even moving the mic in you hand is picked up and amplified. Range works great. 100 ft plus with no cutting out. I would buy again awesome price for wireless mic system. Its small and compact. Uses 1 AA battery instead of 9v which is great. ... show more

This works very well, the only issue I had was is that I ordered a bunch of these units and when I receive them I realized that they were all the same frequency. If you look on Amazon carefully you'll see that these things are sold in a couple different frequencies. Look at the item title to see the frequency. This mic exceeded my expectations. I have used it in several venues and am amazed at the clarity and range. The build quality is very good, as you would expect from AKG.
