Description

The AIRAID MXP Air Intake System represents the ultimate in AIRAID's cold air induction systems and delivers higher levels of horsepower and acceleration gains for high-performance gas and diesel vehicles. Some AIRAID MXP Air Intakes start with a replacement one-piece roto-molded air box that addresses the shortcomings of the restrictive factory design. Housed inside the air box is an AIRAID premium air filter for outstanding air flow and filtration. Air is directed through a new air intake tube constructed of cross-linked, high- density polyethylene that is designed using extensive computer modeling to maintain proper mass air flow readings and calibration. Many MXP Air Intake Systems have a built-in velocity stack, which further promotes airflow. What this all means is that you get a simple-to-install, yet extremely sophisticated system to increase air flow while maintaining proper air-to-fuel ratios, thereby eliminating the need for recalibration after installation. The media could not be loaded. After receiving the product and being highly excited....I was immediately disappointed when I got to the step....following Airaids installation video on YouTube....that the hole for the PCV piece was drilled out about 1/4 to 3/8 too small. The rubber grommet wouldn't even go in. So...after drilling that out...because who wants to wait ALL weekend to process a return and another few days to get a replacement.... I drilled it out went to install the air temp sensor in its spot...same part...SAME FREAKING ISSUE!! I was beyond pissed. This hole was DEFINITELY not drilled out and had a hole the size of a freaking pen. The rest was melted plastic and junk fused together in the hole. Drilled that one out too...installed from turbo back to airbox....went to pit the clear plate on the airbox. After removing the scratch protection layer off that didn't protect it from the metal piece that goes over it. The two were put in the box facing the sides that were NOT covered in the protective film so the supposed to be clear visual plate is so scratched to hell you can't even see the filter. This is ridiculous for the amount of money these cost for plastic....what a joke. Can't even get ahold of airaid on their customer support line. ... show more

So, you have a ecoboost mustang. Great car... But it leaves a little to be desired on the first couple seconds of flooring it. This completely solves it. My mustang would start to kill itself around the 4.5k range because of the restricted in flow of air (see pictures for comparisons) now easily gets to 6 with absolutely no fuss. This mod is for acceleration, I cannot stress that enough. You will not notice a difference at constant high speeds, you will not notice pretty much any difference at low speeds. Where this shines is getting on an interstate. You will instantly see the difference assuming someone isn't in front of you, slowly reaching the 20mph under the speed limit they love to do when getting on the interstates. Aesthetics wise, it's all subjective. I prefer an enclosed air intake, but still wanted to see what it looks like, so the acrylic window and aluminum detail frame was exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to make your own judgement. Overall this is a great mod for anyone that has a lead foot and doesn't want to bite the big bullet of engine swapping to a coyote just yet. Even if you do, this is probably on par with an unmodded coyote. This air intake truly brings out the ECOBEAST ... show more

Install was good besides the mass airflow sensor hole being to small. Had to widen the hope to fit it in. Not a fun task. Took me an hour and a half would've been an hour had not the hole been to small. Didn't notice any sound difference or throttle response. No tune but will see how the mpgs stack up in a few weeks. Would be nice to have some compensation from air raid for the hassle. ... show more

Overall this is a good product for a decent price. I havent seen any drops in intake temps over factory at all. You can tell without a tune or any aftermarket parts it does add slight power and does make the turbo sound more noticeable. I would highly recommend getting a tune soon after buying this.

This is completely unacceptable. No quality control whatsoever. And not able to contact through amazon. As you can see from the pictures, the air tube after the filter is filled with oily plastic debris. And definitely not something you want flowing into the engine. Have not installed product yet, waiting for spring, but I wanted to comment about the manufacturer rebate. They refused the rebate because the Amazon receipt is not good enough. making me think again about buying from you folks.. Installed a few weeks ago, wow! The installation took about two hours, hoses were tough to maneuver and push it back on the turbo. The results are obvious, better sound and better acceleration, especially after 30-40 MPH. Glad I purchased and recommending it to my other Mustang friends. ... show more
