  • MULTIFUNCTION DIGITAL CLAMP METER: Accurately measure AC current (do not measure DC current)! AC/DC voltage, frequency or duty cycle, resistance, capacitance, diode, continuity and temperature tests are also available.True RMS for accurate measurements on non-linear loads. This clamp meter is a very useful tool for solving industrial and household electrical problems.
  • NCV DETECTION FUNCTION: Non-contact voltage detection effectively checks the electrical status by measuring the strength of the electromagnetic field without touching any wires; when the multimeter senses a weak AC signal, the indicator light will be on.
  • MULTIFUNCTIONAL: Support data hold, temperature measurement, automatic shutdown, low battery indication and continuity buzzer. High-definition backlit LCD display and LED flashlight make it easy to deal with dark environments.
  • PROFESSIONAL MULTIMETER: Auto-ranging button design and NCV non-contact measurement. HOLD for data hold function,BL/FL for backlight and LED lighting functions.
  • LARGE JAW OPENING: The jaw opening measures AC current in conductors without touching or interrupting the circuit. To measure the current you need to clamp the meter around one of the wires and not the whole power cord. Its slim and compact size makes it easy to operate in tight spaces.

  • Nice NCV testers, bit meh for continuity, haven't tried the clamp or much else.
I have 2. Incidental, but I just needed NCV testers. These certainly work for that, and they ran a lot cheaper than some NCV testers, not to mention the extra functions and how cool clamps look. The orange arches are so chic! NCV is done, ironically, by holding HOLD. This adds a little over a second of unavoidable delay. Mashing this button takes some force. It's made my thumb tired a couple times before I workshopped some technique--hold device tight in palm, float thumb on button. Classic. Anyway, NCV buzzes at about an inch from the outlet--I understand there are testers which only go off when INSERTED INTO the hot socket, not that this one even has that option--and on appliance wire, it buzzes at around 2 inches. The detector seems to be at the tip of the clamp. One unit is slightly more sensitive, not much, but enough to register on the 4-bar scale; I successfully sensed voltage on wires around 8.4V, 15V DC, 120V AC, but nothing on 4.6V DC. I managed to find 1 outlet which looks dead to NCV but it's OK, there's a GFCI indicator, the adjacent light switch triggers NCV, and anyway this is probably a personal problem. Some light switches trigger NCV but some don't--oh, is this a house review? NCV also buzzes when any 1 probe contacts voltage, but even without NCV, 1 probe contact will cause the screen to slowly oscillate between AUTO and voltage. AUTO is interesting. As another review points out, there are functions which are only AUTO and cannot be forced manually. When AUTO toggles by hitting the function button or when the device decides it's time for resistance/continuity, excepting between AUTO and voltage, there is a small click from within, which I guess is the internal circuit changing. Cool. Not cool is how long it takes for continuity--it takes half a second to over a second for the buzzer. At least ranging doesn't cut the buzzer like it does on my other meters. The buzzer also has problems with missing momentary changes in continuity--that's both ways, and it's distinctly not due to any effective kind of latching--but on a perfectly stable circuit with nothing special going on, it's OK. It picks up resistance anywhere on the palm side of my hands, which is a little funny but so valid as I have another meter which I just found does the same. Battery door has a brass threaded insert. Backlight is toggled by a button, but annoyingly it turns off after 30s active together with the flashlight--activating the flashlight can repeatedly reset the timer, but ridiculously the flashlight can only deactivate when the backlight does. Screen fades fast vertically, horizontally not bad. The leads are shoddy but seem flexible, use standard plugs, and do claim CAT III 1000V 10A (It's molded so it must be true!). Units measure within 1 count of each other and broadly seem accurate enough compared to my other meters but I can't test TRMS claims. Line voltage and frequency seem right--this is a good time to mention that frequency needs you to hit the function button while hooked up to AC--slightly scary, but I had to do it. Current untested though I could certainly figure out a setup really quick... maybe later; I'm in emotional shock from accidentally shorting the 4.6V power supply (bafflingly it's not actually 4.6V?) while testing. You'll notice I didn't bother to test much because I endear these as beefed-up NCV pens, though lack of sensitivity toggle is relevant. ... show more

  • Almost perfect
I liked everything about the meter except lack of manual mode on all the functions. It has auto for V,A,Ohm,Continuity Manual for HZ,temp, diode . The display back light and or flash light on for 30 sec. The clamp gets into tight spots, good soft test leads, solid construction.

  • Waste of money
The no contact voltage tester detects voltage when there is none. I didn't have a chance to use this until I went to troubleshoot my water heater. I flipped the breaker off and it showed it was still energized. I recently had a new panel installed and thought maybe it was mislabeled. I threw the main off and this meter still shown there was voltage. This meter can't be trusted. I don't use a multimeter often enough to justify getting a name brand one but I will be getting one now. ... show more

  • This is, by far, the best multimeter I’ve ever owned…a MUST BUY!!!
The media could not be loaded. Being a STEM enthusiast, student, and professor, I have owned multiple multimeters going back to when I was a young teenager. So, when Amazon offered me the chance to order a revolutionary clamp-style multimeter, I purchased it immediately. This is, BY FAR, the most versatile, coolest, and unusual multimeter I’ve EVER owned. As you can hopefully tell, from the video and pictures attached to this review, you would never know, just by looking at it, that this product is, in fact, an advanced multimeter. Actually, the ONLY things that might give it away are the two terminals for the included electrical probes and the LCD screen. All of my other meters have large dials on them and you need to turn the dial to just the correct position in order to measure the intended electronic function. The problem with the dial design is, if you don’t fully understand what you are actually measuring, that you will have turn the dial to the wrong position thereby getting incorrect results. This multimeter has a brilliant computer inside that is able to figure out what you are measuring as you measure it and automatically displays the proper results in the proper format! This meter is SO versatile that it comes with an extra set of special probes that are specifically designed to measure temperature! AND…I haven’t even gotten to the coolest part yet. This is a clamp-style meter. This means that, if you can isolate just one wire in an electrical system, and there is room enough to place the wire inside the electromagnetic clamp, then you will be able to measure both the voltage and current flowing through that wire! And, because of the advanced programming, it automatically detects whether it is AC or DC and displays the proper results! Just be careful when using this function as it only works on a single wire. If you were to clamp the meter around standard home electrical wires (Romex cable) you would be encompassing three wires (the ground, the positive wire, and negative wire). This causes an issue as the positive and negative electric fields tend to cancel each other out so you will not get the correct voltages or amperages. This item is ABSOLUTELY a 5+ star product and a MUST BUY for anyone who is an amateur electronics enthusiast, professional electrician, STEM student, or any type of engineer! ... show more
