The board is basically. Cardboard and the connectors for the levels are cheap plastic. Broke one connector trying to assemble. Cant reach seller about buying new parts. Took far too long to put together for as tiny as it is.

Shelf was hard to assemble due to parts not being consistent in size. No real instructions included and the actual shelves are made of cardboard, there is no way these shelves hold over 5 pounds. Only reason I did not return is because I did not want to go through the hassle. I'll most likely cut some quarter in plywood and upgrade the shelves. ... show more

It’s dimensionally very close to the description but the vertical bars are cut in two and use a plastic piece to joint them. This is something that is not shown in the pictures of the shelf. The boards are also much much thinner than pictures and are just thicker cardboard (there is no wood in them). They flex quite easily in the middle if you put even 5lbs in them. ... show more

No packing list with the quantity of each part. Missing 4 end caps so the top of the legs is sharp and unsafe. Could not find any way to contact seller to request missing parts. You get what you pay for, but these issues are easy and cheap to address. An on-line assembly video on Amazon would fix a lot of these issues. But... get a mallet, otherwise, ya ain't gettin' it together! Seriously, every household should own a mallet anyway. Just a small lightweight rubber mallet with about a 2" hammering surface head. The people who couldn't get this together didn't have a mallet. Otherwise, pretty easy to put together, just pay attention to the TINY assembly picture. The horizontal side supports go with the wide formation up. The shelf surfaces are quite tight and hard to get in after the fact. You'd be wise to put them in as you are hammering the last leg in on each half. Also, the product photo is not accurate. The vertical side parts are not one piece but two and there is a plastic connector between them (which also requires the mallet). This plastic connector will affect the aesthetic if that matters to you. Mine is going in the garage so I don't care, but if using inside I probably would care. Like the sturdiness of the stand, but I don’t like the sharpness and spacing at the top of the stand. Definitely needing something to put it on the corners on top to prevent myself from being scratched.
