I love these things in the beginning. The first month of use it’s like this cushy pencil shaped angel has descended from up on high and wrapped its little silicon angel wings around my Apple Pencil. It’s really a game changer because the Apple Pencil au-naturel feels absolutely awful to hold- It’s too skinny and slippery and just feels cheap. Then I start to hate them. They start to loosen after about the first month, just enough so you notice it. By the second month you’re having to readjust the flat bit every couple of uses - frustrating but manageable. At the end of the third month, the silicon is so loose that the flat part absolutely refuses to stay on the flat part, so to charge your pencil you have to spend 5 minutes readjusting the thing to get it just right. If you manage to muck that up like I did and not get it exactly lined up, you end up with an insecurely held Apple Pencil that falls off while you’re getting in your car and just so happens to find its way under the front tire. I’ve purchased two packs in 6 months with all 4 sleeves loosening to the point of uselessness. There’s a shrinkage technique involving boiling water and an ice bath that I’ve tried a few times to no avail. If you’re one to believe that it’s better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all, this sleeve is for you. Buy it and enjoy your ride on the roller coaster of love. This is my first time buying a skin for the Apple Pencil. This particular skin is my favorite so far. Besides the looks, the skin itself makes the pencil easy to hold. It doesn’t slip away from my fingers and it stays in place. I recently bought a Soke case for my 12.9 iPad and the pencil fits perfectly in its little spot. Not to mention it looks kinda cool with the “composition book” skin the case came with lol. People think I legit carry around a composition book + pencil. I’m satisfied with the product so far. I know all over their page they said this skin is ONLY MADE FOR 2ND GEN PENCILS!!!! but I couldn't find a similar looking #2 pencil replica skin that was silicone for the 1st gen Apple Pencil. Other reviewers said this worked on 1st gen so I took the chance. And yes, it does! If you ask me it looks even better due to the metal piece on the 1st Gen pencils that make them longer than the second gen. Keep in mind that the "eraser" part is separate of the main yellow body of the skin so it's easy to apply and snug. It won't slip off, that's for certain. My only problem now is that the pencil is just slightly too thick to stick in my new case's pencil holder slot. But dang, the standard Apple Pencils are like trying to draw with a glass pen! Can't hold them well and they will slide off the table at the slightest tilt of a surface. This prevents that since there is also a flat side but the silicone is grippy. I can draw comfortably! I love it! Don't hesitate if you just got yourself the 1st gen pencil. The 1st and 2nd Gen are the same thickness around, and the only difference is length. ... show more

Update: Oops! It's actually the increased distance from pen to charging surface area created by *a combination* of this grip cover and my case (Zugu's "Muse Case") that prevents wireless charging. Can't really fault AhaStyle for only making their grip cover compatible with Apple's official case. Just keep that in mind when choosing your case (Zugu's is still awesome) and whether to get a grip cover at all. ------------- Original review: Would give 3.5 stars if I could. It does everything you really need a grip cover to do, and does it super cheaply. Pros: - The only truly cheap accessory you'll ever buy for an iPad Pro. - Low profile. - Definitely helps you grip the slippery pen surface better. - Pretty easy to remove. - Should add some protection from scuffs. Cons: - Prevents wireless charging. This is the only major demerit. My initial instinct was initiate a return and leave a bad review. But the truth is that because the pencil has decent battery life and charges quickly, and because the cover is pretty easy to remove, it's not that big a deal to just occasionally slip it off and charge the pencil for a bit. For the price I think it's a perfectly livable problem. - The outside has a small but noticeable raised seam resulting from the manufacturing process. Not a functional issue, but on a super expensive accessory for a super expensive device, it will irk some users. - It's hard to say this with certainty, but I suspect the magnetic grip is slightly reduced by the cover. This might just be an inherent drawback of using covers, and I think it's worth the trade-offs. ... show more

Soft, rubbery silicone feel. The pencil can still magnetically attatch to your iPad to charge, and it stays on well. The double-tap feature also works as it would normally so you can easily switch between writing and erasing. I really like these silicone covers because they do protect & cover my 2nd gen apple pencil from scratches. I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else but i do have a clear slim case on my ipad pro & when i try to charge my apple pencil with the silicon cover, it won’t charge my apple pencil. if i do not have the clear case on my ipad pro, the apple pencil will still charge with the silicon cover on the apple pencil. Just keep in mind that if you do have a case on your ipad pro & want to buy/use these silicon cover slips for your apple pencil, this might happen to you too. you will either have to take your case off the ipad pro or the silicon cover off the apple pencil to charge it. i have attached some pictures. i gave it 5 stars still because there isn’t any issues with the apple pencil covers. it could just be that the cover & the case combined might be too thick & blocking the wireless charging. ... show more
