Description

The AgriOtter Energizer powers a fence line to keep pets and livestock corralled while preventing predators from accessing your land. Connected to AC power, it electrifies up to 10 miles of single-strand wire and is designed to work in heavily weeded areas. Low-impedance technology permits increased joules on the fence line, enabling current to press through vegetation and weeds to keep the fence energized. It can be used with all wire types, including poly wire, poly tape or poly rope.

  • Good power poor design
The fencer is HOT it will nab ya good but getting to that point is trying. First the grounding system is a joke. You will never get 2jouls out of those grounds. So who cares right well you need not care if you know that is out of the question and need the correct grounds to get that power out of this . Honestly i have no idea how much power it puts out but my tester shows 7k volts from start to finish befor i ever cleared weeds. But im only have 1500ft of wire so thats not a ton. Great for my garden area . The wires are just junk but your stuck with that if your using 12v like i am cuz its not a standard connection. Do not use the wires that come with it. Not the red or the black ground wire. Get the right stuff with the right ground rod for your situation. No matter who you are you need at least one ground rod pushed in 6 or so feet to get the hit your looking for. Cant speak about life of the unit i just got a replacement. First one powered up and died in 2 min. so a new one was sent and it at least for the last couple hours been working well. My unit is placed in a vented weather proof box . I wont take a chance on moister getting in it. ... show more

  • Worked great, then died
Update.... The company sent a new unit within 3 days! Customer service is excellent!! I have updated my rating for this. I have had this since February. It worked great to protect my chickens from my dogs, and predators. Yesterday I noticed it is no longer working. No support information.

  • Working fine so far, nice strong "zap"
I thought it had stopped working, but apparently my battery wasn't as fully charged as I thought it was so it didn't survive the night. I'm using a 9AH 12V "UPS battery" along with a 100w solar panel and solar charge controller. The 100w solar panel is overkill, but its in a rather shady spot under the trees. Hopefully it will fully charge the battery today so we can see if it lasts through the night. Anyway, other than my issue with the battery, I'm happy with this fence charger/energizer. It's way overkill for my setup, but I am trying to keep bears out of my chickens. My tester pegs at 10kv everywhere on the fence. Now we just have to wait for a bear to show up to see how it works for deterring bears. ... show more

  • Works, details need improvement
Binding posts are too short - you can’t get a decent sized wire clamped because threads are too short. You need to use a crimp ring terminal with is just extra work. Power indicator light is super dim and can only be viewed from straight on.

  • Good power
Got it up and running 2 weeks ago. It works very well so far. The grounding and wiring is kinda useless, so I used stuff I had in the shop to beef it up. Good ground is Very Important. I grounded my wire mesh fence, and drove a 5 ft rebar for insurance. 3 hotwires sit close to the fence. Wife touched it by accident, she yelped. I cut a large plastic jug, and used it for a cover. This one is better than others I have used. 2 joules is pretty powerful. ... show more

  • This was a good purchase
I have used this energizer for over a month. The voltage at the end of about 500 feet of wire was over 9000 volts (the limit of my tester). I installed it in a enclosure so I can't speak to it's waterproof quality however, I really like the unit for the price and so far it has shown to be reliable. The improvements that would help are longer connection studs and the ability to use the battery for backup power and to trickle charge the battery when on A/C power. ... show more

  • Easy to install
A very basic unit with no indication of performance past the blinking LED. Supplied wires are a joke for a permanent install and the terminals are too short for easy installation of real wire. It appears to work, the real test will be the end of the deer damage.

  • Great charger, wrong cables.
I would give 5 stars, but 12V plug is not compatible with the socket, internal pin has no contact. Red wire is not good for 10 KV.
