This is a good fountain for indoors. The first fountain we bought got returned because you could not hear the water from four feet away, and the motor was quite loud. So I tried this one. I figured anything less than 15 inches tall and there wasn't enough distance for the water to fall to make a sound. Even adding rocks or crystals didn't make a splashing sound. You need height. The water flow is adjustable and on the highest setting, you can hear the waterfall from 15 feet away. Because the bowl holds a lot more water than a small one - it looks like about 45 ounces - the motor is completely submerged in the water and it's silent. Even though it's resin and fiberglass, it doesn't look bad. It looks and sounds good in our living room. The light is inside the water of the bottom bowl (bowl 4). It projects up through the water and lights the front of bowl 2 and 3. The light shimmers because it projects through the moving water. It's nice. Finally, I plugged it into a timer so it comes on at 4 and off at 10 pm. The media could not be loaded. So far, I like it. Assembling is a no brainer. Tricky part would be reassembling and cleaning it every few weeks, as I decorate it, but I feel happy having the opportunity to be creative, kinda feel like a child again… 😊
