🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The AGM Varmint LRF TS35-640 is a game-changing device that brings clarity to the night, delivering impressive visibility far beyond what users expect from night vision technology. Customers rave about the device's remarkable capability to provide clear and detailed sight in complete darkness at distances up to 1000 meters. However, some report issues with the laser rangefinder functionality and device freezing.

Pros

  • 🌟 Exceptional night vision capabilities with clear, detailed viewing up to 1000 meters
  • 🎒 Detachable and portable, allowing for ease of carrying alongside a small pistol
  • 📹 Excellent image resolution and button layout, with additional features like video and picture capturing
  • 🔋 Improved battery type over previous models for extended use

Cons

  • ❌ Issues with the laser rangefinder freezing and giving inaccurate readings
  • 🔄 Device may freeze sometimes, especially when using the rangefinder feature
  • ⚙️ Flash protection setting can be inconvenient, shutting down the system momentarily after a shot
  • 🔄 Some users report that the 'one shot correction setup' for calibration is not working properly

Should I Buy It?

If night vision is a priority and you'd value unparalleled clarity in darkness for observing wildlife or navigating challenging environments, the AGM Varmint LRF TS35-640 comes highly recommended. However, be cautious if you're specifically looking for a reliable laser rangefinder as the device has had mixed reviews in that functionality. If AGM addresses these issues in future updates, it could cement the device as a must-have for night vision tech enthusiasts.

  • It is detachable from your platform and you could use it separately
I have always had a fear of being 100% dark in the wilderness. I am talking pitch dark that you can't even see your hand in front of yourself. It is very scary, alone, wet, in mud, and hearing weird noises in bushes. I had tried level I infrared and then even Flare which was totally useless. I even purchased high-watt Infrared laser to maybe see things further. Nothing passes 100 meters (If You are lucky). Till I got AGM Varmint LRF TS35-640. Oh My God, two nights ago I was watching in pitch dark three deers ruminating and scratching themselves. What a beautiful sight at 50 meters. Even I could see their individual hair. There is no more fear of the dark. Now I can see even more than 1000 meters. I could even see through clouds. I could see a possum at 90 meters. Pros: All above that I said and this device is unbelievable and I feel maybe it's something out of a science fiction novel. I sometimes ask myself are my eyes deceiving me or is this real? It is detachable and you could put it in your pocket and with the other hand carry a small pistol in the dark rather than a larger platform to get stuck in bushes. Cons: Can't see laser beam(it is not made for light) . One shot correction setup is not working. I asked them they said they are removing it on next software update due to confusion it has caused and go and calibrate your cross yourself (Doesn't even matter, I will find the correction to zero it finally) The flash protection setting. Is it necessary? if it is after only one shot system shot down to protect the camera and it took one minute to turn back on. Well, forget about follow-through shots because when it comes back all the hogs are gone! I am just afraid to disable the flash protection not to damage the sensors. Over all this needs 8 stars out of five! I hope it lasts a life time. Thank you. ... show more

  • LRF is lacking, otherwise nice.
Unfortunately I must echo the other users who stated that the LRF feature did not perform as expected. I purchased a warehouse item which was clearly used. The LRF would not activate so I returned the scope and will look at a different model for my needs.

  • Lots to like, except one thing
This is my 3rd AGM device. I own the monocular, the Rattler 35-384, and I just bought this scope as an upgrade to my favorite predator rifle. First, the unit was brand new out of the box. Some other reviews complained about that so I inspected it closely. The image resolution was outstanding. The 640 upgrade made a bigger difference than I expected. Very happy with that. I really like the button layout too, much easier than my rattler. Videos and pictures are really good! I zeroed my scope at 100 yards and it’s still the same 2-3 hour process as the rattler. But that’s ok. It grouped really well! I like the new battery type and overall I’m happy with the purchase. But…the rangefinder is flaky. Works, then stops working. When it worked it was pretty accurate as I had my Sig rangefinder to compare it too. But when I tried it at night it didn’t work. It displayed a range 10-20% to the tries. Most of the time however no range displayed, just a bunch of red dashes. If you’re buying this unit because of its rangefinder, don’t- unless they address the issues. If it weren’t for that, I’d give it 5 stars. Hopefully a firmware update will fix it, ... show more

  • Pre owned product
The scope came in with an obviously pre opened box. The scope was already mounted to the Daniel defense mount but backwards. Scope freezes sometimes when you hit the laser range finder. Also the laser range finder on this product is worse than a laser range finder you would find at dollar general. 0 stars if it was an option. Will be returning. ... show more
