  • Works great
Style: Handheld
I have tm15 256 and it works great for what I am using it for. I hunt pigs and coyotes at night and it is easy to spot and tell if you are looking at a coyote or not at 200 yards. Also easy to see rabbit at 100 yards. The control buttons are easy to tell which one you have your finger on at night. For the price range I think this is a very good product and it will work great for you. When turning and looking around it keeps up and gives a good picture. Setting are easy to go through and set as you will have it. ... show more

  • Super simple to use, even a caveman could do it
Style: Handheld
TM15-256 Wondering how small a critter you can see with it? Daytime - Chickadee or mouse at 50 yards is about max, but you need right conditions. If the suns shining, you will get driven insane with all the false positives. So much easier to identify critters that are moving, or if not so sunny. Night time, no critters are safe, easily spot a rat at 50 yards. My favorite mode is red hit, works like white hot, but makes moving critters bright red, even Stevie Wonder could see them. Have trouble finding dogs at 300 yards in the woods, keep in mind you need a clear field of view to get heat signature. The LCD is small, if you have bad eyes, and be honest with yourself, save more money get a more expensive one. So will the 15-256 work for you? Like I said, it's good enough for rats out to 50 yards, deer - you can spot those at 200 easy, with a clear view. Edit, heres a couple pics, you can clearly see the 2 deer at 30 yards, behind my neighbors bushes, but in the blue circle is a chickadee at 50yards. Other pic is a mouse that lives under my shed at 45 yards. It's the black spot in center of pic, you can't clearly identify it from Taipan, but you can tell it by it's movements. ... show more

  • Battery does not last
Style: Handheld
I bought this in December of 2023 it worked fine until recently. The battery will no longer hold a charge. I charge it to full and as soon I turn it on it shows low battery.

  • Great detail
Style: Handheld
This monocular has great detail and clarity of picture. The different modes work well. Battery life is excellent.

  • Cool device, but ultimately lacking.
Style: Handheld
It's not a bad device. The resolution is more than adequate to see and identify a grouse at 100 yards, or to scan a woodline 400 yards away to see deer at night. Ultimately I'm returning it because the Field of View is too narrow. Even at 100 yards it's hard to see the full width of a 20ft path in the woods, at closer distances it's a pain to use. ... show more

  • Entry level field of vision but great long range detection
Style: Handheld
The media could not be loaded. I got this for general hunting use and to do a bit of DIY pest control around the property. I use this to see rats at night. Then I eliminate them. That simple. The pic and video attached show the rat at a distance of about 10 yard or so. The quality of the picture is very good for heat signatures overall. I can detect heat signatures way over a mile away but these will be geographic signatures like hills, large buildings etc. For general animal detection, I would say you could spot the heat signature of an animal around 1k yards easily. However, you would not be able to make out what animal you are looking at is at that distance. I would say around 700 yards or so you should be able to make out the shape of the animal. Regardless, you would need a thermal scope to get a clearer picture. Overall, I really like this monocular. You can see the image on your phone live with a very slight delay so that way you can point the monocular at a certain spot and just look at your phone instead of having to use your hand up to your eye all the time. The battery is very good also. I like that you can record and take pictures as well on it. My only complaint is that the field of view is very small. However, at this price, you won't be able to get better. For a larger field of view, be prepared to spend over $1,500. So, if you are needing to just detect animals at a long distance this will do just fine. The quality is very good. ... show more

  • No complaints - glad I purchased it.
Style: Handheld
I have owned three of this companies Thermal Imaging Monoculars: The TM160 (I returned it for The TM15-384 that has much greater capabilities.) The TM15-384 that I love love love. Well worth the monies if it can be afforded. and lastly - This one, the TM15-256. I purchased this one because I wanted a second Thermal Imaging Monocular, but did not want to put out the amount of money the TM15-384 costs. This one is about half the cost of the TM15-384 but I find its capabilities are almost equal. ... show more

  • Great Battery Life
Style: Handheld
I use this monocular for night hunting coyotes. Works well letting me know long before my IR optic can pick anything up. If you're looking for detail at longer distances, there are better options out there. But this unit is compact and last a long time on a single charge. Friendly user interface and is a game changer for me! ... show more
