    • Perfect automatic pool cover pump!
It has been warming up in our area and our pool cover has been completely covered in water and it would just be a yucky mess to try to get that off and then deal with the inside of the pool so I have been needing a good pump that will transfer all the water off of the top of the pool cover so that we can start getting the pool ready for warm weather that is almost here! I was immediately Blown Away by not only the power, but the quality of this pool cover pump! It is super well made and very heavy duty and sturdy. The plastic that it is made out of does not seem cheap and easily breakable whatsoever! I love that this is submersible so it's totally fine if it goes under as well so you don't have to worry about it breaking from contact with the water. My husband has already tested this out on the top of the pool and it really works like a charm! The suction power is absolutely out of this world and it will immediately get all the unwanted water off of your pool cover! This really does all that it describes in the ad and more! The measurements are 100% correct as well so it will fit perfectly in the space that you need it to. This is definitely a more luxurious heavy duty pump for the top of your pool as opposed to a cheaper lightweight version. I think this is definitely worth every penny just by how well it works! I feel like other pumps if they went under at all they would be broken and not work but this one has a huge Max flow capability and really works like a charm! It could not have been easier to get set up and ready to use. The instruction manual that it comes with is very clear and easy to read and understand. My husband is easily able to have this ready to use in no time. Very user-friendly and all of the controls are well labeled and easy to understand.     • Love the base plate filter
The blue base plate filter to critical roles that are almost entirely ignored with most pumps like this. The problem with this kind of a pump on a pool cover is the stability. It's a relatively small area that touches the ground and the weight is higher up on the pump. It doesn't take much for it to tip over. The train hose plays a notable role in added stability also. So respect the resistance that you're tubing has and adjust it until it's gone. That makes the house act like a kickstand. And it adds a layer of filtration without blocking the inlet. They're actually doesn't take much to plug up the base of one of these if there's leaves or pine needles present. This blue face plate filter has inlet paths at different heights. So even if the surface gets covered with leaves there will still be paths right near the ground that the leaves on the surface wouldn't affect in flow in any way. It probably quadruples the amount of mass it takes to plug the inlet. When you do choose what pump you're going to use consider these two factors quite heavily because they will both have a major impact on the longevity of your pump.     • I really like it
I have used cheap pool cover pumps before and they generally only last about a year and would burn up the motor because they would not shut off when the water was pumped out. But this pump has a nice big motor on it and it pumps extremely well. I probably had a thousand gallons of water sitting on top of the pool cover and even thought I used a hundred foot length of water hose it still pumped it all out within a few hours, although it works much better with a shorter hose. The pump attaches to a large base and the hose comes out the side the bottom of the pump so that the hose does not kink. I think this is a great design and I expect it to last many years. ... show more

Affordable and quality components. Hasn’t overheated or bogged down etc. Not difficult to install or keep free of debris. They also have a wonderful customer service line if you need assistance, at least that was my personal experience. The motor isn’t super noisy and they have supplied an adequate length power cord. I love the automatic shut off feature to prevent damage in low levels of water. Good suction and reliability. Simple storage in the off season. Can be used for a variety of applications. ... show more

The blue base is not required, but it does act as a bit of a filter. It is too big for a 5gal bucket, but fits perfectly down the crock hole! I now have a pump that's helping dry out my 100-year-old 4-square craftsman 1920s Brick basement.
