I found the FIRST piece out of the first box badly damaged,contacted the Manufacturer,they said they have replacement parts,unbox the rest of the parts to make sure the rest are ok. Every piece I took out (Pics) were broken and shoddy workmanship,I chose not to take anymore out,the one with the bent latch didnt even make it out of the box,be on its way back to Amazon,horrible product ... show more

The Murphy Bed Chest arrived in 2 shipments. The first day we received the mattress, drawer front, sides, top and back. The second day we received the base with all the fittings. At first we were disappointed that it didn't all arrive on the same day - however, it allowed us to unwrapped all the other boxes, become familiar with the instructions and the parts. The following day the final box arrived, we unpacked it, put all the different screws and bolts into small plastic bags and labeled them, and started putting the bed together. Having become familiar with all the pieces, it took much less time than we anticipated. It is on a wall to wall carpet, so after we built it, it was easy to push into place. Note: there is a lot of cardboard and Styrofoam. Only damage was one of the hinges was bent. We were able to make it work, but we asked for a new one and we received it within a week!. ... show more

Purchased this Murphy bed chest two years ago and it has definitely come in handy for not only my grandchildren, but two adults. It was a little tricky putting it together and there were a couple very small chips but nothing that I had to call customer service about. The mattress is very comfortable and tucks away easy. You do have to be careful with the top portion so that you don’t bump your head, but you can put a couple of pillows on the backside for cushion along with your normal sleeping pillows and it’s fine. The drawer below holds all the bedding I need and including the mattress cover. Very happy with the purchase! ... show more

Just as described and as pictured. Arrived in several boxes which were heavy. Takes 2 people to put together an hour+. Read directions closely. All parts were provided and numbered which made assembly easier. Laid out all parts on floor and placed hardware nearby. I found one piece of wooden slightly broken but still was useable and not that noticeable as it went under the inside. Another very slight crack near one of the front handles on the wooden “drawers”. Did not box the unit all up and return or wanted to wait for replacement parts as guests were coming and i wanted the bed set up immediately. The double/full mattress folded out nicely and did not curl back up. Had sheets ready to put on so made it up after full assembly. My guests said the mattress was comfortable. Have not folded it back up yet to just show as a dresser. Do like the idea of 2 large drawers underneath for storage but cannot access while bed is laid out. Have to pick up end of mattress if needed to reach in. Will hold quite a few clothes in drawers for storage or 4 blankets. Hopefully will last for a few years with guests coming/going. ... show more
