  • Paint Gun is 5- stars.
This A-610 paint gun is a LVLP paint gun for automotive paint and the gun itself deserves 5+ stars. However, it is a packaged deal with an Oil/Water Separator and a pressure gauge. Unfortunately, the pressure gauge that I received was missing the screw cap for adjusting the gun pressure. I don't want to return the gun just because of a broken gauge but 1 don't want to spend $10.00 for a gauge that was received broken. These are the only options available thru Amazon. Thus, the reduction of Stars. Back to the gun itself- The fit and finish are excellent with the matt black coating makes it easy to clean. It has a very lightweight feel and is easy to hold and maneuver. Disassembly is easy to complete after the first time you remove the air nozzle (for some reason the factory is using a torque wrench to install them). Actually, this may be the easiest gun I have had to clean. It comes with all the tools and accessories necessary to clean the gun, the nozzles, the pin, and air caps. The 1.7 needle set was great for laying a smooth lay of primer/sealer straight out of the can. So far I have used the 1.3 nozzle/needle for a single-stage urethane, a base coat, and an epoxy. All laid down nicely. Now, keep in mind that this gun is an LVLP (low volume low pressure) gun and is completely different from the HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) system. If you are transitioning from the HVLP it will take a few tries to get the settings down. Low volume means that you need fewer CFMs of air to effectively operate the gun. The low pressure is a little confusing since I run this gun at a higher PSI than an HVLP gun. The reduced CFMs allow for the use of a smaller compressor, and reduced overspray. No matter how you slice it that is a $$$ savings. No matter what I will be keeping this gun ( or an Amazon Replacement). I just wish for the benefit of the seller that there was some way to get an adjustment cap and screw instead of returning the entire gun). This is the best entry-level level gun that I have purchased and comes close to some of the $250+ guns I have used. ... show more

  • I used to paint fighter aircraft.
This gun is excellent. I sprayed F16s and A10s in the Air Force and have much time slinging paint. If your technique is on point, you can get a show-quality finish. I sprayed a trailer with Rustoleum rusty metal primer and gloss black. I used the 1.5 spray tip and had no problems. Mix ration 3:1 with acetone. I also sprayed the wheels. The gun is excellent for small compressors. I used a Fortress 29 gal air compressor from Harbor Freight. As long as you plug the compressor directly into the wall, you'll have no problems. It doesn't take much air. Get the disposable cups from Harbor Freight or 3m for the best experience. Best combo for DIY spraying. You could spray a car with it. If you do, use the 1.3 spray tip for the clear. ... show more

  • It' A Winner
I've been spraying paint for 60 years, these spray guns are a lot of bang for the buck, as good as many of the high priced spray guns I've owned. They lay down paint as good as any other professional gun for a fraction of the price, it's a winner. As advertised this LVLP spray gun when paired to a small compressors all the way down to 20 gallon capacity, it will do a fantastic job. I personally found it to do an excellent job shooting Acrylic Urethane, lacquer, single stage, base coat, clear coat, and primers. For the price of this AeroPro R500 A610, purchase three of them, so you don't have to change spray nozzles, set one up for primer, one for base coat/Acrylic Urethane/ Clear Coat, you'll still pay less than one expensive Devilbiss gun. Don't believe all the negative hype that these AeroPro R500 A610 LVLP spray guns are junk, mechanically they're excellent quality and mechanically sound. I read one review that contained a complaint that the pressure regulator lens is plastic, fact is that it works, second as any old timer knows who's a bit creative, either purchase one with a glass lens, or simply make a paper flap to protect it from over spray, easier yet, wipe the thing off. You purchased a great spray gun for a great price with accessories. As always, it's the guy squeezing the trigger that's important, that comes with experience and time. I've read a few negative complaints about the AEROPRO R500-610, it was obvious from the complaints they more than likely originated from inexperienced users. Complaints that the spray gun tip could not be removed, possibly cross threaded. The fact is this complaint is not all that uncommon, over the years I've found a few spray gun tips that were excessively tight, generally the tip is not cross threaded, just over tightened during assembly, with the proper tools, experience, and patience you can get the tip loose without damaging the spray gun. Leaking spray guns, generally, during my 60 plus years of spray painting, I've found that a leaking spray gun is due to over pressure, water getting into the air line, improper cleaning. A leaking spray gun is a common problem amongst professionals and amateur sprayers alike. It’s often caused by the fluid nozzle becoming loose or dried paint blocking the needle, another words, cleanliness is an absolute must with spray guns. A leaking spray gun can also be caused by a damaged needle packing, this falls back to improper cleaning/maintenance, over pressure, etc.. Paint sputtering: this usually means that your nozzle simply isn’t on tight enough, or that the spray gun wasn't cleaned properly. Spray gun painting, especially automotive spray painting is an art that must be learned over time, most of these problems are caused by "cockpit error, not the equipment, far too many are too quick to blame the equipment. Number one, use only the proper solvents when cleaning, the wrong cleaning solutions can damage, or turn your spray gun into a useless piece of junk. Anyway, the AEROPRO 500-610 IS A Winner. ... show more

  • Customer service is outstanding!
I have been wanting to try an LVLP spray gun for a while now, and this one came highly recommended. There was a learning curve naturally since I have only sprayed with HVLP guns. I have only used it one time but except for 1 major issue it performed well. The major issue was while almost finished spraying, the gun began dripping on my panel! Not good! Upon inspection I determined there was a seal missing from the fitting where the fluid needle goes through to the nozzle. I contacted the manufacturer and they responded within an hour. After I explained my problem, they took down my name and address and promised to send the missing gasket/seals. This was on Friday, the 12th. The manufacturer updated me several times via email, with the end result being I received the parts TODAY, the 16th. I have waited longer than that for replacement parts in the states! I will be doing more shopping with this supplier again, soon. ... show more
