The metal thread on one of the lamp pieces prevented the lamp from screwing together and standing straight. Although the lamp that was delivered to me was defective, it's still a very poor quality item. Difficult to put together and poor design. There is some style to this piece and the marble is nice, the construction makes it cheap looking. Also, the shade is oatmeal, not white or off white. Now attempting to repack and return.     • It's Easy to Put Together. Seriously.
The hardest part about assembling this lamp was getting it out of the box. The reviews stating it took HOURS to put together seem exaggerated: I am 5' tall, and I put it together all by myself in 30 minutes (including searching the house for LED lightbulbs). The base is heavy (it's marble, duh!) so I put some non-scratch felt stickers underneath to protect my floors. I also ignored the directions and assembled from the bottom up, which was easy. There are only 4 screws, which all come pre-attached, so as long as you're able to take a screw out of a hole and then put it right back in, you'll be fine. It's big, it's beautiful, and it brightens a wide swath of my living room space. Besides an issue with the first lamp I ordered and Amazon customer service, I have no regrets! ... show more

The lamp has a nice look, but it's smaller than advertised. The height is said to be 73.5" but I'm 72 inches tall and it's about 2 inches shorter than me. This brings the bottom of the shade pretty low over a sofa. The arc arm is flimsy. When I walk by the lamp, or when the heat comes on in the room and moves the air, the light shade dances around. Also, most lamps of this style have a diffuser on the bottom of the shade. This one doesn't. My fault for not checking, I just assumed. On the plus side, the marble base is really nice and heavy, the gray shade looks really nice. This lamp ultimately was just a bit too small and much too flimsy/fluttery for my needs. I should have expected that for the low price it was offered at. If you need a smaller arc lamp by a chair for reading, this could work for you, but as a main source of light in a living room, it's not enough. ... show more

This lamp was a little tricky to put together but the end result is a well functioning, quality lamp that we really enjoy. I was pleasantly surprised by how heavy the base is, which is especially appreciated because my toddler has so far not been able to knock it over! The shade looks a little cheap to me but no one else seems to notice or care so it will likely stay for now. It gives off adequate light and the arc is the perfect petite size I was looking for. This product arrived quickly and on time. However there was some small damage to some of the parts (shade, socket ring) even though the rest of the lamp parts were fully intact. Lamp package was placed inside a second box for shipping, and that was very good as the main packaging was pretty low quality and appeared banged up making me wonder if the parts were damaged prior to shipping. If the seller or mfg company can provide replacement parts, that would be appreciated. Lamp shades are not WHITE, they are a light tan (see attached pic). Overall, I am otherwise pleased with the lamp as the rest of the lamp seems sturdy and of good quality. ... show more

Purchased this for a client . I would not dare hand this junky cheap wobbly, crooked lamp to anyone... quick frankly I DOUBT I could give it away since it is kinked and limp.... I HAVE ARETAIL STORE FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND GOD KNOWS I have assembled hundreds of lamps and furniture pieces. but this is the worst I HAVE EVER SEEN. Really disappointed with this product. Was so excited to get it in the house, but when we attempted to put it together it was IMPOSSIBLE. The metal tubes making up the lamp’s base were not able to be screwed together due to glue residue junking up the inside of the lamp. We spent hours with sand paper attempt to wear the residue down, but were never able to do it enough to screw in the base. We ended up re-packing the item and are sending it back. I may have bought other lamps of this brand before but this lamp... the threads in the tubing didn't meet. The tool that's included in the packaging is quite helpful. Magnifying glasses are also helpful if you want to follow the instructions for assembly. I think I may need to spend more on a lamp from a different brand/vendor for the quality I seek. ... show more
