Description

The Murray three-drawer shelf lamp functions overtime delivering three storage drawers while displaying trinkets and illuminating a room. And it does it all with a fashionable black MDF frame and off-white cotton shade easily suited for contemporary or transitional décors. A brushed steel pull chain switch turns the lamp on and off. This lamp has a clear cord and is smart outlet compatible. Bulb is not included. I like it and is what I was looking for. Assembling it was fairly easy but the "screw anchors" (not what they're called but that's what I'm calling them) that connect the pillars can be somewhat hard to screw in being that there is nothing to grip on to (like a bolt head) to screw them into the center of the pillars. I was basically using my fingers to tighten them into place but you have 16 of them to screw in. I ended up having to use pliers after trying with my fingers with the first few. Don't worry about stripping the threads (but try not to). Once you start screwing in the next pillar, as long as it catches the first part of the threads of the screw anchors, it'll just continue to thread. Also, pay attention to the plastic tracks that the drawers rest into. On top of them, there is an "L" and an "R" to show you how they are supposed to rest on the pillars. Also, before securing them into place, make sure they rest on the pillars perfectly. There were a few pillars where they did not and I had to turn the pillar till they did. Then you can continue to add on the next pillar. The drawers are plastic but the one wouldn't know that until they actually touch it. They're small drawers so they won't hold much. Overall, it's a good nightstand/lamp. I actually added one of those LED bulbs that can change color and brightness with a remote control so this nightstand/lamp serves my purpose. ... show more

PROS: -It is the only floor lamp of this style I've found that is 72" tall and not 60" -I like the way it throws light in a small living room. CONS: -Feels rather cheaply made. -Only 10.5" wide and deep, looks skinnier in person than in product photo. -Not the biggest fan of how the cord comes out of middle of the bottom of the light section and you have to snake it down along the back of one of the vertical members -Had to play with shade so there wasn't a gap letting out light between the bottom of the shade and the horizontal wood piece it sits on. -You better put something heavy on the bottom shelf or it feels like it would be very easy to tip over. ... show more

For the price, I expected more bang. The whole thing is weirdly skinny, the drawers are plastic while the poles are MDF. Now, I was prepared for that. However, it was easy to put together on my own. Took me about half an hour. When I plugged the lamp in and flipped the switch, nothing happened. Did some fiddling, still no light. My electrician boyfriend managed to rewire the lightbulb holster, whatever it's called, but the whole thing is a fire hazard with that electrical malfunction and cheap wood. I'm going to write to the company and ask for a replacement part, but the wire is attached to the whole top shelf. I would probably pay $25 for this from WalMart, but I honestly expected more for what Amazon charged here. ... show more

Went together very quickly, and is rather sturdy, and looks very nice when assembled. the drawers function very nicely, better than expected, actually. It does what I need it to do, and I'm overall genuinely pleased with this lamp.

Does anyone remember that old commercial comparing a real taco to an "el cheapo taco?" No, well, fear not but suffice it to say this is the "El Cheapo Taco" version of a lamp. As many reviewers here have pointed out the drawers are cheap plastic and the wood is particle board city. There are many parts to put this together, which isn't that big of a deal. I'm sorry but I've seen reviewers who said it took them 2.5 to 4 hours to assemble this lamp. Well, I'm no handyman but that is an absurdly long time. As I was putting it together I realized just how cheap and foreign this was. I had previously seen where it said a maximum of 8 lbs. capacity for tipping purposes but it came stickered on the drawers with a mere "1 pound tipping capacity1" That being said, I believe it can surely hold more than 10 pounds or so easy. Overall - once put together - this looks nice - from afar. This is definitely not a $100 item. I would surmise this costs sweat shop labor a mere $10-$15 to produce but who knows. I've already assembled it so it would be too much a hassle to disassemble it to return it - and that's probably what this company is banking on. It is a shame there isn't a decent lamp similar to this on the market. Oh well, I can stick it in the back of the room, add a few trinkets to it and it will still appear decent. YMMV. ... show more

I looked at soooo many different lamps before I bought this but ultimately decided to go with something that had some extra function to it, I was hesitant just because other stuff might actually match my other stuff better. I'm so so happy this is what I went with. It is better than I expected. I have not had the opportunity to start putting stuff on the shelves/in the drawers I could see people wanting to be careful with what goes on it being a bit top heavy.. I have some heavy books that I plan to put on the bottom shelf and I expect that will be sufficient. It was not difficult to put together, once you kinda get the flow, it goes quick. I was concerned the shade would look cheap but it doesn't at all! Don't second guess yourself, get it!!! Will update if problems arise. ... show more

I love the look and the function of this light! It is a great shelf to have next to a comfy chair to hold a book, phone, or glass of water. The shade softens even the harshest light bulb, while still illuminating the room. The weight limit is 6lbs, and it is a bit top-heavy, so I don’t put anything on the top or middle shelves that is precious. It is sturdy once assembled, and i would say comparable to Ikea quality: light wood, but sturdy enough to last a while if properly cared for. It was easy enough to assemble with my 4-year old helping - everything was predrilled. I only had two minor complaints: It is pretty light wood and the poles could crack if you over tighten them, and the instructions were a bit vague as to which side of the first board should be face-down. Once we got that right (it took 3 seconds after we started to realize we’d put it upside down because the screws didn’t lay flush with the board), it was easy to assemble the rest. ... show more
