  • Good product, poor instructions
Color: Black
This happens so often: a good product is marred by poor instructions. The PDF instructions on the surface are very promising, with good diagrams, but crucial directions are left out and some parts are misleading. However, if used alongside the assembly video, they are workable. Note that the "Zip Resources" provided are in .rar format and you. may need to download a free program such as Unarchiver to open them (it would be nice if that were explained). The Zip Resources include the Arduino sketches and the assembly video. The PDF downloads are the printed instructions. As was reported by some other reviewers, my kit was missing some screws but fortunately I was able to find some in my collection - not everyone will have these on hand, though. I will say that when I emailed support, they responded quickly and offered to send the missing screws. I'd recommend an inventory of parts before you start. This is not a project for very young children as they are likely to be frustrated assembling it. I debated whether this should be 3 or 4 stars because of the instructions, but the product itself is good enough that I gave it 4. With good instructions it would be 5. ... show more

  • Great customer service!
Color: Black
This robot was a birthday gift for my son with the intention of taking it to the county fair. Less than two weeks before the fair, two plastic pieces were broken (it is unclear to me how but not fault of vendor/manufacturer). I contacted customer service and they said they would send the parts. Since the parts would come from China, they wouldn’t arrive fast enough so they offered to send a kit from an Amazon warehouse and we agreed on price. They arrived in plenty of time to repair the robot. The build was not complicated but it took some finesse with holding parts and bolts/nuts. We have yet to figure out the programming. ... show more

  • Came with 6 servos, 2 do not work
Color: Black
Pdf manual, video and the product itself have a lot of inconsistencies. Not recommended for beginners, you'll have to figure out fixes for a lot of problems yourself. Okay for someone savvy with such tech.

  • The pieces are fragile
Color: Black
You need to be careful at the assembly in order to preserve some of the thin acrylic pieces that compounds the robot. Overall a good bang for the buck product!

  • Non-Standard batteries; missing hardware
Color: Black
I thought this would be a fun project for my son and I. The concept is good. The implementation is poor. I'm about 1/3 of the way finished. There are video instructions online. The instructions do not match the hardware exactly. As an example, the video shows m2 screws and 11mm standoffs. There were no 11 mm standoffs and the screws were M2.5 (and the holes in the board are M2). As a result, I could not mount the board to the base. I ordered a separate brass hardware kit with M2 parts so I would have spares in case any other parts were missing. We continued after a couple of days, and then got to the point where we were ready to power it up. Come on Adeept. I know in the product description it does fairly say 18650 batteries need to be supplied. I should have read that carefully. So now instead of using the plethora of rechargeable AA batteries I have laying around the house, I now have to go and order some 18650 batteries to continue the project. The idea is pretty cool. The components are decent quality. But the hardware does not match the video and the component count is totally off. Use of non-standard batteries and missing hardware means I'm another $30 into the project or so to get it finished and operational. Not sure I recommend. Likely, I would buy a more expensive kit next time and hope it is more consistent than this product. ... show more

  • DON'T BUY IT
Color: Black
So I bought this for my daughter for Christmas 2021. She just got around to building it. The building part was "fun".. meaning it was more fun trying to figure out the cryptic instructions, but being an engineer for 25 years I walked her through it. Building it was the only entertaining part of this mess. Instructions were so out of date it was pathetic. The coding for this was all wrong. I have programed in 9 different computer languages from assembly to C#, i know them very well. The code for this was horrible because it just doesn't work. Very poorly put together "samples" and most of them have errors to debug to get it to run. Then when all that works, the servos burned out(not that they work that well from the start). So under powered its a joke. The website... o boy... what 10 year old Chinese intern wrote that??? There is NO HELP OR SUPPORT FOR THIS AT ALL. I wanted my daughter to learn the ins and outs of troubleshooting and last resort contact tech support.. well.. after sitting and watching her struggle to make any sense of their website to contact for assistance, I got involved. The website was a total mess. I felt like I was at some 3rd graders web site project or I was at a phishing site. If it wasn't for the fact that I don't want to be bothered going to the post office overseas i would send this back. I don't even want a refund, its not about the money. I could care less about the 60 bucks this costs nor the 100 bucks to ship to me in Thailand. it is just tossed in a box to sit, probably until I can't stand looking at it anymore then i will throw it in the trash. Bottom line, don't waste your time or money on this one. Better off buying a raspberry pi (when the price gouging comes down) and have your kid learn coding and robotics that way. this product is garbage. total garbage. You buy it after my warning it is on you. trust me you will be sorry if you do buy it. ... show more

  • Assembly instructions are a problem
Color: Black
The link provided for assembly instructions is for the wrong product. Should be detail-81 not detail-31. The written instructions appear to be from a non-native English speaker and difficult to understand. I found the correct video link after I had finally go the are assembled
