The media could not be loaded. I originally purchased just the red color and have received compliments with how great they look on every ride. I found these color changing lights and thought I'd give them a try for my girlfriend's bike. I attached a video to show the lights on the bike in motion. This set cycles through the colors automatically. We bought two as this package only includes one wheel, unlike the solid color packages that included both. Make sure you get two if you want both wheels lit up. My girlfriend likes for the lights to be synched up. This is possible by pressing the power button on the lights at the same time. Her frame is large though and it's a pretty big reach to hit both, so have a helping hand makes it a little easier. I personally like the lights unsynched, especially now that it is Christmas time. Passing through the neighborhoods we saw some homes with Christmas lights up, and the bike happened to hit red and green colors at the same time. Pretty coincidental but definitely cool nonetheless. While these are really cool and have a wow factor, the number one reason I have them is to make me more visible at night. Even straight on cars can see you better as the lights are bright enough to create an aura effect around you to a small extent. A quick note regarding installation. I did the front tire and my girlfriend did the back tire. Neither of us have any mechanical skills. It's so easy to install these I literally think a caveman could do it. Buy these lights! This product is nearly perfect and I hope you will get one or more sets as well! At the time that I received the wheel spoke lights I also had ordered the version that is a singular color. If I had not done that, then this review may have been given the 5* rating. Both are excellent products and you will have to decide which is the right one for you. But let's talk about the nuances. The color-changing product is truly beautiful. It runs the color gamut from Red->Green->Blue with a few colors in-between as well. However, there is only one mode: On/Off. I appreciate that with the single-color model I received it can toggle between solid color and flashing. This product does not flash which is about 50% of the star I removed for the overall review. It also does not have a quick cycle mode. The only mode available is SLOOOOW color changing. This is fine and beautiful to watch, but I would have appreciated a quick color change mode -- maybe 4 seconds to cycle through all the colors rather than 10 seconds. As a (pre-pandemic) daily bicycle commuter, I found the side-illumination these afforded my tires to be invaluable. My rear-facing tail light and 1000 lumen headlight have long been staples but bicycling through an intersection I always had to wonder whether the cross-traffic would notice me since drivers are rarely on the lookout for cyclists in my area. I feel like these wheel lights changed the game for me in a big way and I was very pleased to have them on anytime I was out pre-dawn or post-dusk. I even appreciated using them in flashing mode under the presumption that they may just give a little more visibility during the morning or evening commute when the sun was up. The installation process isn't ideal and I found it a little more difficult and worrisome than I had pictured. I found the tiny bulbs (like regularly-spaced dew on grass) to get in the way of twisting around my spokes. It left me worried that I had or would damage them during the installation process. However, the material turned out to be remarkably durable from what I could tell and I was grateful that my 700C wheel fit the product perfectly for one trip around the outer rim. If I had a smaller wheel (or wanted to install on a kids bike) I imagine the number of trips around would feel tedious and a bummer that there aren't shorter versions available. As the battery life starts to taper down I noticed that fewer colors were illuminating through the pattern cycle. It has been a long time since I changed the batteries so at least the product is still usable several months into daily use - kudos! I'm hopeful that when I eventually do swap out the batteries the rest of the colors will appear as before. Regarding maintenance, if you get your bicycle tuned up, these little lights will likely have to be worked around as the bicycle mechanic trues the wheel spokes and if you hang your bicycle by the wheel, they will likely be an annoyance to you. But there isn't any interaction with the lights (hopefully) when changing a tube. It feels like once they are installed they pretty well stay where you put them. I've had a few times where I wished that the lights were capable of being more cemented in place but in general I haven't messed with their positioning along the spokes. Expecte a little movement, though, from where you install them. So yeah, I am a huge fan of the bike wheel spoke lights and I can only hope that the innovations will be able to continue and keep this product improving as it matures. I ordered 4 sets of the Activ lights for my kids' two bikes. 3 out of the 4 sets worked -- one of them was defective. We had great customer service, as a new set was sent to replace the defective one (which simply would not turn on). The replacement set took a while to arrive, as it was on backorder, and my daughter wanted to wait for her preferred color. No big deal. It arrived and worked perfectly. We now have really fun lights on the bikes, which is nice for evening/dusk bike rides, to attract more attention to the kids' presence, and also just for fun, as they look really cool. Installing on the smaller bike wheel was a bit of a pain in the neck, as there is simply not a lot of room to work your fingers towards the center of the wheel to affix the battery pack/component. There's really nothing to do to get around this aspect -- if you want bike lights, you just have to put in the labor and have some pinched fingers for the duration. It was a lot easier to install on the larger bike wheel, as there is more room to maneuver, and the larger bike wheels were really easy to affix the battery pack to. After affixing that battery pack, you simply wind the lights around -- we followed directions, and it's just a little time consuming, but again, worth it. Really fun product, and we are happy with the buy. Would recommend! ... show more

I bought three sets of these for my trike 7 years ago and only recently did one string stop working. So I reordered the same brand since it lasted.for so long. And these get used almost nightly and are exposed to wet weather and mud puddles. These lights are better at making me visible to traffic more than reflective gear or a headlamp. And kids enjoy how colorful the wheels are, they say it looks like a parade. ... show more
