I gave 4 stars here’s why as you can see my nightstand took a little blow hit along the way postal delivery workers handles items badly at times. It could’ve been them an maybe not sense the packaging was soo padded real good I was think also it could’ve been sent like that. But any who it’s not too bad of chip or scratch to do a return so I decided to keep it scenes I had already purchased a Mohawk Furniture Quick Repair Kit. I used 2 layers mahogany an a little touch of black, because it’s a cherry finish but as you get to the edges it a darker finish. So upon applying my last coat I went over it with the black. Then i took my finger an rubbed a little to blend it in. Now as you can see from the pictures it’s perfect to the point you can tell it had any imperfections. My last step after that I’m hit it with a tiny bit of clear Lacquer finishing paint. Using a small art crafting paint brush to seal it off. Because with the Mohawk repair markers after soo many cleaning it will fade off an you’ll have to do the repair all over again. To avoid that tap it with a little clear finishing top coat. The reason I purchased this nightstand it’s to go with my other nightstand that came with my Jacqueline queen size bedroom set. I got a bed, mirror,dresser,chest drawer &1-nightstand with a hidden jewelry drawer. It’s made close to the old Philip 2nd & 3rd furniture designs except this Philip design don’t have the signature hidden jewelry drawer like it normally has. The Jacqueline is discontinued so I had to go with what I could find that would come close to it. But I will be re-designing the whole set with furniture carved wood trim & framing an painting it a antique gold or champagne colored chalk paint I’ll post results of the finished look when I’m done with everything. Oh I almost forgot about the height of the Philip nightstand it’s shorter than the height of the Jacqueline nightstand. So to resolve that problem I have some old cherry wood finished 4 inch bun feet legs from a sofa set I once had an threw out. I never throw away my furniture legs never know if you’ll need them because accidents happens like a sofa leg cracking. Well anyway that will give it the extra height it needs to match the other nightstand so other than that little problem overall my nightstand is beautiful. See last 2 pictures 1st photo is Philip II & the last photo is Jacqueline with hidden jewelry drawer it’s a nice heavy wood wide spacious nightstand. ... show more

I'll accept responsibility for not really paying close attention to the size. I did note it, but I guess it just seemed reasonable. Then I got it. Definitely suitable next to a child's twin or infant's bed. Looks like a pencil in a mailbox in my bedroom, however.

I will sell my set on Craig's list, and buy some different ones locally. The frame is solid wood, the rest is veneers. The drawers have no inner height Fault is mine because I did not take out my tape measure before I ordered them. Also, this is a very "short" set that you cannot reach in a thick mattress set that includes a box spring. They are well made and pre-assembled. So, take out your tape measure before ordering!
