This is a solid laptop, built for the road and for long sessions. The SSD and processor make startup and app functions noticeably fast. The case has a small amount of flex to it, but you really have to try to flex it -- meaning the frame is absolutely stronger than your average plastic-based case. The battery life is very good; I don't get the 20 hours that are promised, but I do get at least 14 per session, minimum. This is definitely a pro-level laptop, one that I suspect I'll be using for may years. That said, there are some drawbacks. First is the price. This is a state-of-the-art laptop, and the high price-tag reflects that. Meaning that many of the features that are good to great are fairly standard on units that cost this much. So I can't say that this is a bargain price-wise as you can get a similar or better laptop from another manufacturer if you are willing to pay this price. Second, the unit I received didn't have the infrared camera mentioned in the specs. And for the price, I'd like some additional inputs. And usability of the pad and the fingerprint sensor isn't always first-rate. Third, Norton Security is preinstalled. It is ridiculously invasive if you don't opt to pay for Norton's service after the trial period ends. You get constant notifications about renewing and there's no way to turn them off via Windows settings. You're reading something on the web and suddenly Norton opens up a tab in your browser that interrupts you and reminds you to pay them. Worst of all, there's no real way to uninstall Norton. Acer tells you to contact Norton, and Norton sends you to a link to download a removal tool that, once used, renders your fingerprint sensor inoperable. You can try to reinstall drivers but the sensor will no longer work. So you just have to do a full reinstall and put up with the non-stop Norton notifications. I like it It works but the finger reader does not work with my old coot fingers maybe my finger is worn out hitting the channel change button for the tv not sure

Super light, super fast, looong battery life. The fingerprint reader is hit or miss.. it’s all about holding your finger on the pad for precisely the right amount of time.. two seconds usually does it. If that fails it’s super easy and quick to sign in with a 4 digit code of your choosing. So glad I got this and not the Lenovo Thinkpad. I use a Thinkpad for work and it’s great.. a real workhorse, but this is just as good and lighter so it’s great for travel. ... show more

The computer after 2 weeks of minimal use whenever you open it starts up with a loud annoying sound not musical something that is broken. The touch pad it difficult to move at time I wonder if it refurbished though it did not stated that on purchase. It am forced to use a mouse.

Wish I had gotten a Gen 10 cpu. the fingerprint reader is garbage, but I have large hands and work with them so my opinion is suspect. Get a the model with the video card and as much ram as you can afford. Other than that it has a grate screen, real good keyboard (for a 14 inch laptop) and a pleasure to carry. ... show more

    • Bricked itself after first reboot.
CPU: i5-1135G7 Style: TravelMate P4
First reboot bricked it. Cannot access boot device. Tried windows recovery. Fail to see the ssd. Tried new windows install. Failed to see ssd. Another brand new piece of garbage. Good job Acer. Would recommend to anybody that needs a 3 pound Paper weight.
