  • Work great for me.
Model: Meter/Softclix Device
I have had great luck with Roche products. For years I used the Aviva Plus meters with few problems and great manufacturer support. When they were discontinued my insurance suggested another meter. I ordered one and it did not support alternate site testing. I contacted Roche and found this Guide Me meter does support AST, but you do have to contact the manufacturer to receive an AST cap for the lancing device. They supply it at no cost, but you have to wait a few days for it to arrive. The lancing device is the same “Softclix” as the Aviva Plus meter. The meter is pretty easy to use, but does seem to time out if I take too long to get a blood sample. The required sample size is very small. I saw that some other reviews mentioned the hard sided plastic case. I did not like it either after struggling to open it and finding it was upside down, and spilling the contents when I finally got it to open. I cured that problem by using a silver metallic marker to write “OVER” on the bottom. After using it for a few days I became accustomed to it and actually ordered another meter BECAUSE it included the case. I prefer the older larger test strips and their container because my 73 year old hands don’t have the dexterity to easily handle the smaller strips and containers. But I do see the advantage of the much smaller case. ... show more

  • Easy way to monitor yourself
Model: Meter/Strips/Solution
Works easy enough. Sometimes the test strips can be faulty and not give a reading. Then I have to try and squeeze out more blood or waste a needle and try another finger. This could be due to my own misunderstanding of handling the product. I might have left cap open on the container for strips. That’s all I can think of. Otherwise my entire container was full of faulty strips. I haven’t had much issue since I opened a new strip container and make sure I close it before packing things away again. Definitely worth the purchase. Thought they had an app to go with, to easily monitor your levels. Haven’t tried that yet. ... show more

  • Good meter - TERRIBLE CASE
Model: Meter/Softclix Device
I just bought this meter. I'm sure the meter is fine as it is one of the highest rated ones. I'll know for sure as soon as I can get the stupid little plastic case open! I have to use a screwdriver to pry the case open. I am not exaggerating. Once open it is obvious how cheaply made it is. I hope the meter isn't made by the same people. ACCU CHEK- You need to rethink this one. It would be better to have no case at all than to have this cheap piece of crap .. and to carry a screwdriver around. Really. It makes you look bad. ... show more

I owned one of these that stopped working. And that is the reason why I ordered another one. I like these and as far as i'm concerned there as accurate as any other one probably would be.
