I spent some time reviewing different options for seed/clone propagation from simple trays to auto cloners. Decided on this kit as it had everything needed for a good solid start and had a dome extender for taller clones. The kits comes on one box and was well packaged to prevent any damage. Everything appears to be well made and thought out. Even the packaging was a step above most less expensive options. Items were protected with heavy plastic zip bags, foam inserts and cardboard. The humidity dome is solid plastic and should not break with casual handling. The dome extender is easily put together with included screws/wingnuts. The extender allows for seedlings up to about 10" in height to fit under the dome. Several other reveiws noted that they didn't receive the extender. There are several products offered in the product description and the Large Dome kit does not include the extenders. Be sure the check the specific product you are ordering to insure it includes the extender if you want that. All other items included in the Full Dome kit were exactly as described. The seedling tray is even a good plastic thickness to last over many uses. The seedling openings are 1.5"x1.5" at the top and slightly taper down towards the bottom. Rockwool cubes of 1.5" square size will fit all the way down in these. There are two dome lights which fit into notches at the top of the dome not tight enough if turned upside down but not sloppy either. As some reviewers have noted, the dome lights extend almost to the edge but are one LED short on each side. I didn't see this as a defect but rather the way to kit was designed in case you choose to use different lights than what was included in this kit. The light controller has several scheduling options so you don't have to use a timer. The heat pad is a bit longer than the dome itself. It's controller is more simple in that it just adjusts from low to high but no exact temperature reading. All in all, this kit is well made, includes all that you need to start or for small operations. You can certainly get by with DIY options or buying everything piece by piece. But if you'd rather have everything in one set and ready to get started for a reasonable price, this is a very nice kit. ... show more

If you are coming from a cheap germination system, you will really appreciate the build quality. The water tray is nice, it'll last. The cell tray is nice and won't be destroyed the first time you try to pull out a seedling. The polycarbonate dome (I think that's what it is) is heavy duty. The lighting attachment fits securely on the dome. The light programming might be overkill, but it's fine (you'll need to read the instructions). The mat is fine, but you'll need to supply your own thermometer to set the heat level. The dome extension is also polycarbonate. The only downside is the extension has to be assembled. I bought the smaller version. I'm struggling to get Carolina Reaper peppers to germinate. Too late in the season, but I did a trial run anyway and had success germinating . ... show more

    • Finally a Great Seed Starter

I've always purchased those small kits for starting seeds that you see everywhere. The issues were always the same: Not a high enough dome, No venting, Difficulty getting the right lighting, And now way to reliably heat it. THIS PRODUCT SOLVES ALL THOSE PROBLEMS. You can even adjust the intensity of the LED lights as the plants grow. There is a timer for the lights to come on. The heating pad is also adjustable. My only minor objection is: you place the LED strips on top of the dome. There's are channels in the dome for them to sit into, but when you want to life the dome, the lights do not stay in place. No big deal. I just used some masking tape to hold them in place. Easy to remove that when I'm finished. The other MINOR objection is: I wish the planting containers were fewer and larger. They're only about 1" x 1" and maybe 2" deep. Overall this seed starter is outstanding. Excellent instructions. ... show more

It seems pretty good quality. I honestly expected and slightly thicker stronger dome but it’s still sturdier than my original basic one. I’ll update the review in the future to give my opinion on the mat and lights. But the bad part is the photos show full length light bars that you won’t get, and a humidity dome extender that you also won’t get. Very disappointing, but for the combo value and adding it into an ac infinity ecosystem you can’t beat upgrading to this or starting with this kit since it is better quality that the basic ones from the grow store. ... show more

Love this System Dome & tray is sturdy and made from rigid plastic not thin flimsy plastic like the cheap set ups , Controller is fantastic Giving you options sunset to sunrise settings ,scheduled runtimes, or constant on or off You can select your light intensity-from 0-10 , 0 being off , heat mat is nice with its own temp controller so you do not over heat I was hesitant because of the price but those concerns are long gone so happy i pulled the trigger and so will you go ahead its worth every penny ... show more
