I have had several Abu Garcia combos over the years, and this one is a great deal for the price. I have caught big bass and the 7’ pole is strong but still sensitive enough to feel the bites. The reel casts good and is smooth. I would definitely recommend it

As you can see from my history I bought nothing but Aboo Garcia polls in the past. However the last two Aboo Garcia‘s I’ve received from Amazon have been not only damaged and slightly irregular I just had a brand new pole snapped in half while trying to catch a bass! Abu Garcia’s brand has gone down hill because it’s money not the quality of the product anymore. I wish I could get my money back and get a different pole but I’m sure they don’t stand by their brand!!! ... show more

The price of this rod and reel does not equal the quality. I expect more from Abu Garcia. I have two other rods made by them and paid less than this and both are of better quality. The rod isn’t bad though not sure it’s med/heavy. The reel is cheap and sounds it. Plastic and cheap metal. Drag does not pull even. Not what i expected. The set up catches fish but don’t expect the reel to last long. Better options out there. ... show more
