  • Allows use of m.2 pcie SSD (m key) slot for m.2 (e key) laptop WiFi card
Very useful device. Allowed me to utilize the m.2 slot that only had two pcie lanes to add an Intel laptop WiFi card to my desktop computer. This let me optimally use the m.2 slot on my motherboard that only had two lanes and was not optimal for an SSD. The m.2 e key WiFi cards only need one or two lanes making this an optional choice for the slot. This card converts a m.2 pcie SSD (m key) slot to the standard m.2 laptop WiFi (e key) slot. It even included a usb header and cable to get the Bluetooth from it. The included cable is pinned out to directly connect to the usb 2.0 motherboard headers still present on many motherboards and and has a connector that only uses half of the header, allowing me to use the other half for my water cooling pump. It has four individual pin connector for the motherboard side. You will want to consult your motherboard manual to make sure it gets pinned correctly. Please note that if you try to get an Intel card for it that you get one that does not get the cnvi model as there require special technology outside of the WiFi module and could have comparability issues as I have doubts that desktop models have the needed chips since they do not commonly use laptop WiFi cards. Both are e keys and will fit. The AX201 card is an example of a CNVI version and would avoid it. The AX200 is the standard version and the one that I purchased for my system. The only specification difference was the weight and connection type. Performance was the same. ... show more

  • A little pricey for what it is but it is working great!
I had the desire to continue using my AX200 m.2 wifi/bt module when I replaced a motherboard. The new motherboard had two m.2 slots that were both M key and one was open/available. I also had an internal USB 2.0 header that was unused. Bingo! This card is a little pricey for what it is but it is working great. There were more reasonably priced options but they would have taken 3 or 4 weeks to be delivered so that is why I spent the ~$10 dollars on this one. The M key m.2 slot provides the PCIe for the wifi portion and since M key m.2 slots do not provide USB, which is used by the bluetooth portion of the wifi card, this adapter card has a USB header and cable to connect it to a USB header on your motherboard. The USB cable is ample length; I didn't measure it but it must have been close to 18" and it only need to reach about 3" max on my system. ... show more

  • Added Wifi easily!
I had bought a different m.2 adapter for my Gigabyte Aorus B550M motherboard so I could add wifi (my graphics card blocked the other two expansion slots on my mATX board) and it just wouldn't work no matter what I tried with drivers and updates and firmware. So I gave up and returned it and bought this one and it immediately worked perfectly upon booting up the first time! Wonderful! My only suggestion for future versions would be to shrink down the 4-pin power connector to some sort of micro or miniature connector just to save a little bit more space. ... show more

  • WiFi works, Bluetooth doesn't.
So, it worked as far as WiFi functionality was concerned. I'm surprised that this is also the only M.2 to WiFi M.2 converter I could find. Problem is, at least from my experience, the Bluetooth support sucks and refuses to work. With the cable plugged in to USB, I tested this on both Windows and Linux, neither of them working. So at most, I can only recommend this to people who only need WiFi and can't fit ANY PCIe WiFi cards in their system at all. ... show more

  • Added WiFi6 and Bluetooth 5.2 capabilities with the help of this device
I have a rather old (2014) Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H mainboard that has an m.2 slot. However this slot is not fast enough to fully utilize the speed of an NVMe SSD (lesser amount of PCIe lanes) but have just enough for a wireless card (Intel AX210) with WiFi6 and Bluetooth 5.2. (The NVMe SSD is now connected with a different, PCIex4 to M.2 adapter - works perfectly and on full speed.) But here comes the trick: these tiny WiFi-BT adapters are designed for "E" and/or "A" key M.2 slots, so the "M" type slot on my mainboard required this adapter to attach the Intel AX210 module. The cable that comes with the adapter has to be connected to one of the mainboard's front side USB pinouts to enable the Bluetooth connectivity. The USB pinout alignment can be found in the mainboard's user's manual or with small search on the internet. Now everything is working perfectly: the old M.2 slot has WiFi-BT functionality and my NVMe SSD is fully utilized in a different but more capable PCIex4 slot. ... show more

  • Works great!
Bought a new PC and M.2 card but didn't realize that there were different keys (newbie). Thankful that this product exists and works flawlessly. The only issue was that the provided screw didn't fit the motherboard that I had (not the fault of this product, but just a note).

  • I couldn't get it to fully function
I had high hopes for this adapter, but sadly it wasn't fully functional. I installed it on an Asrock B450M Pro4 motherboard with a BCM94360NG wifi card. The bluetooth function worked just fine, but wifi wasn't working at all. I tried several operating systems and none seemed to recognize the wifi. I returned this M.2 adapter and bought a pcie x1 adapter, which allowed my BCM94360NG card to fully function. ... show more

  • Works good, rough instructions
My only complaint is the instructions it provides, the wording left me kind of confused for a bit. It's a hell of a "plug and play" installation they have here. It's a puzzle trying to figure out what specific order the 4 pins have to be in to work on your motherboard. Mainly because the terms on the pins did not match the terms on the motherboards USB manual. But it works once it's in correctly. ... show more
