  • It works fine and super easy to install
Size: 8GB Kit (2x4GB)
The machine is a mid 2009 MacBook Pro. Earlier I replaced 4Gb (2x2Gb) with 8Gb (2x4Gb) from another manufacture from Amazon. Failure. I returned it to Amazon for a refund and bought this 8Gb set. It works perfectly. The machine is now far more responsive. It's a great way to update an old machine so tha that it works more like a modern machine. The motivation for the memory increase: Apple no longer supports this old of a machine with software updates. This means one cannot update any new apps or update old one. A big problem! But with some research, one can install the latest operating system. But it's more of a memory hog than the older operating systems. At that point it became absolutely necessary to increase memory. With the ne operating system and the first increase of memory, it is like a brand new machine (well close anyway). It sure beats buying a new machine. Ease of installation: You need something like a jewelry set of screwdrivers to take off about 10 screws off the bottom metal base. The screws are very small so be sure to put them in a container so they don't roll off the table never to be seen again. Upon removing the bottom base cover, the memory is right in front of you. Just push the side holding restraints sideways and the memory card pops out. Simply replace the cards, and screw on the bottom plate. 5-10 minutes and the job is complete. ... show more

  • Worked in my iMac late 2009 27 inch like a CHARM!
Size: 8GB Kit (2x4GB)
This worked like a CHARM! I took home a late 2009 27 inch iMac to begin working from home (full specs below). It hadn't been updated in years and years, AND it only had 4 GB of RAM. It was soooooo slow, I affectionately/frustratingly called it the dinosaur because it was old and much like dinosaur bones, you could only admire it and think of what it once was. I was on the verge of tears. Then, my husband who builds PCs, asked if I could somehow modify it to help. I Googled and came across an article that you could add memory using these cards. My somewhat tech savvy but not handy self, bought these and used a screwdriver to open up the little door as the article and YouTube video stated, popped these babies in easily, and voila! The dinosaur iMac recognized them RIGHT away, no issues. With this upgrade to 12 GB and the new system, it has gone from dino to maybe a grandpa. These were the best purchase I ever made to modify my work's computer without permission! Hooray! Processor- 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory before - 4GB Graphics- ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB ... show more

  • Cheaper than a new computer
Size: 8GB Kit (2x4GB)
I purchased these in 7/20 for my wifes late 09 imac. Yes, you read that correctly, a late 09 imac that is still being used daily. The memory upgrade along with an OS upgrade was to run the most current version of a popular photo editor. I am not a mac guy but I build my own computers but nothing sends me into a full up panic attack as fast as when the misses asks me to look at her computer or explain how something on her mac works. With that said, installation of the additional memory was straight forward and very easy. Shutdown, install, restart and verify upgrade took less than 10 minutes. Performance going from 4GB to 12GB is what it is but it was still cheaper than shelling out for a new machine. Seller was terrific, product was as described and arrived when expected. Should the need arise I would definitely purchase from this vendor again. ... show more

  • Performance, and then some!
Size: 8GB Kit (2x4GB)
I normally don't remember to write a review, but I was so stunned at the performance improvement that I had to write about it. If you have earlier 1998 through mid 2010 MacBook Pro this simple ram upgrade will shock your pants off! Its a total no brainer to install. I was stunned at how quick my MacBook does everything now, it boots up quicker than it ever has, and pulls up everything so fast I can't believe it. Log on is night and day. I spent 40.00 and some change, to go from 4 gigs of ram to 8 gigs. I would say this is a must do my friends. ... show more

  • Fast delivery, installed same day
Size: 8GB Kit (2x4GB)
I used this RAM in part to rescue a Macbook Pro from the trash. The 160GB HD was full but for 10GB and it had a ton of apps in startup. Quadrupling the RAM from 2GB to 8GB helped, and using my last Norton license on it found two virus files after an hours-long full scan. Gave it back to my daughter who is happy to have reasonably quick access to all those photos again. The Mac is a pleasure to work on/dust, whatever with its easy hardware access. Other PC laptops have been a comparative nightmare for disassembly/reassembly and component changes. ... show more

  • Love my MacBook upgrade
Size: 8GB Kit (2x4GB)
Took me ten minutes to install on my late 2009 MacBook. I’ve had this MacBook since new and it’s been bullet proof. Have a new MacBook Pro and I use my old one for surfing etc. 8 gigs of memory makes it much faster good bang for the buck.
