  • Outstanding music player
This is pretty much an all-in-one music player. You can listen to vinyl, cassette, CD, USB, SD, and radio on this one single device. The only thing you can't listen to is 8-tracks. It has built-in speakers, but you can connect it to your own with Bluetooth easily. It looks very 70'-80's retro, which suits it's functionality. It veels to be of good quality and its performance makes it a good value for the money. ... show more

  • Great
I love the sound quality on this player. I have tried the Bluetooth option and it plays well and is easy to connect. The radio, cassette player, and CD player all work great and so does the record player. I love that I can play so many different things on this machine and I love the beautiful music that comes out of the speakers. I wish the speakers were louder. They aren't as loud as I was hoping for, but they're still pretty loud. If you want true sound quality, it may be best to hook this to better speakers which is what my husband will eventually do. All in all I like this and am glad I got it. ... show more

  • A convenient way to play and record from most formats from the last 35 years
So lots of companies make these all-in-ones although this one seems a bit more robust in some ways, and a bit less in others. Here's what I found when testing out this unit. My first observation was that the box it came in was relatively light. I guess it uses mostly plastic parts. It also seemed small and I was right: this unit is one of those where the turntable extends out under the dust cover. It does mean that it can fit in more places and shelves that are less wide, so I guess there's a positive to it. RADIO TUNER: Better than many of the ones I been subjected to in MP3 players and other devices. This one actually picked up stations! I'm serious....the ones in the cassette players and such have been so useless but this one picked up several stations well. Some still suffered from a preponderance of static, sadly. But I score this in the plus column. CASSETTE. Are cassettes making a comeback or is this just to archive the ones that you discover in the basement? There was a time when cassettes were desirable as a media: they were portable and customizable. They held the equivalent of two record albums. And Dolby circuitry reduced the inevitable annoying hiss. None of those benefits apply today. The mechanisms are cheap, there's no Dolby and I challenge you to find blanks anywhere. Nope, this is just a novelty for something you might find at the bottom of a box or a tape you need to transfer because it has a recording of your parent's wedding. BUT having it included to make easy transfers to an SD or MicroSD disc could come in handy. PHONOGRAPH: Very functional but I have to say that if you are one of those people paying $25+ a disc for new pressings to experience the warmth of vinyl recordings, you should be buying a dedicated turntable with a nice cartridge. These replaceable needles are inexpensive and should be replaced every50 or so plays. That's not capable of giving super high fidelity. CD: Player only, A disappointment for me and maybe about 50 other people in the world. Does nobody record to CD or want that capability? Sigh. The player does play commercial and burned discs fine. RECORDING TO SD/USB: I was going to have to report that it flat out didn't work when, suddenly, after six times where it didn't work...it did. OVERALL SOUND: There's no bass or treble adjustment, which would have been welcomed. The sound is a bit heavy on the high end , sounding a bit tinny from every source (CD, records, radio). That said, I much prefer that over too much uncontrolled base. It does have two output RCA jacks to connect to conventional speakers, but I didn;t have a chance to check those out. And given the sound from the card recordings, I don;t imagine there will be a significant imporovement over the internal speaker quality. REMOTE: You can only turn the unit on and off using the remote. Most other functions can be done either from the remote or on the front panel of the unit. I'd call the remote dodgy in terms of being recognized. I regularly have to press it three or four times to get it to recognize the power signal. OVERALL: It gets a nod for being able to play or digitize a variety of formats and input line to record. For the price, it's a very reasonable multifunctional offering ... show more

  • A flash-back to the seventies in a very compact package!
I still have about a hundred vinyl albums from the seventies and while I’ve transferred them to CD’s, every once in a while I enjoy hearing the original right off the record. Nine functions in one is great—if you need them. If you’re thinking about buying this, I suggest you decide what’s important to you and what functions you actually plan to use. While the unit offers lots of features and can play records, CDs, cassettes, and a Bluetooth feed, keep this in mind: The sound quality is not going to equal a quality stereo system with separate components (preamp, power amp, and speakers). It’s not meant to. This unit is a retro-designed mini-entertainment center that provides lots of options for playing music and other recorded content in a very compact space. Think of it as an extremely versatile input device. Yes, you can certainly stay with the built-in speaker, and the sound quality will resemble the somewhat shallow and limited frequency response of the majority of consumer-level audio devices of the 1970s. If you want higher-quality sound, pick up a small power amp and a couple of quality speakers, and things will improve immensely. But remember, this product was made to give the user a sense of nostalgia, and that means a listening experience similar to putting a record on a self-contained record player. If you must have the thundering bass and crystal highs of today’s technology, you may be disappointed. But if you want a compact, easy to use device that will give you a flashback to the seventies, this is ideal. I’ve rated this five stars because it does exactly what it’s supposed to, and for the price, it provides a ton of value. ... show more

  • Multi-function old school stereo
This reminds me SO MUCH of the stereo I took to college ages ago. Same size, same look. But this doesn't have the nice speakers my old stereo had. And the old speakers were better than these internal speakers. This also has a bunch of new tech integrated into it, include blue tooth, a usb port, and a CD player. So, lots of good upgrades and it can still play your old LPs. And the turntable can switch between 3 speeds, which is unusual since most people have forgotten that vinyl came in different speeds--way back in the day. ... show more

  • Throwback
I love how throwback this feels. Its reminds me of the all in one systems of the 80s and 90s. Tape, record, radio, and CD. It does not do any of them great, and the speakers are mediocre, but it is all in one reducing the amount of space being used. The only real downside I found was that their is no record on the tape deck. Would have been nice for no other reason that nostalgia. Sitting at night recording the radio, cds, making mix tapes. No reason to do it but it did make me want to do it once I saw this unit. Plays my old records just fine, cds work great, and of course the new kid on the block, Bluetooth. Great garage unit in my opinion. ... show more
