I may be more particular about blade sharpness than most, but I was annoyed at having to sharpen these blades before using them. They would have cut the grass, I suppose, but it wouldn't have been pretty.

If you are using the Ariens brand mulching kit, do yourself a favor and get these blades!! I sharpened my old mulching blades as much as I could and I was still double cutting and there wasn't much mulching going on. Switched to these blades and I regret wasting so much time on the others!
