I have an original unit from Chamberlain and it looks nearly identical to this one. Gray panel flips up you key in the code and you can close the door as well. I needed a replacement previously and was super discouraged with what the replacement entailed. No temporary Pins. you can't close the door without re-keying the password. This one does that and more. I like how you can key in a temporary password the one difference that this model doesn't offer is a temporary password by time. To be honest I had it on the original one but I always used a temporary password with # of openings so this didn't bother me too much. The second thing i really appreciate about this product is the fact it now beeps. The original didn't do that at all. Often times you may key the number in but if it didn't register in the day time you couldn't see the light anyways. So the fact this can do that its great. (There is an option to enable or disable this) You can also shut the door by just holding the Enter Key. Again this is so awesome they let you enable or disable this. Lastly the one feature I find super helpful but the manual was very confusing when describing it was the Interference or they call tailgating password. This is a feature that allows you to key in random #'s and then have your actual key entered in to confuse people that may be watching you. It works great. I had to replace my original keypad because it would work sometimes and other not. So this new keypad looks exactly the same, except for the backlight that are red instead of the original yellow. Most importantly, this keypad won't close the door without a pin unless is within 15 seconds of initial pin input. That means that if you leave the door open and try to leave later you have to put the pin to close it, this is a significant difference with the original one that didn't need a pin to close, just to open. I didn't find any setting to change this in the manual. I like the beep feedback when touching the keys because my old one didn't have them and when exposed to direct light it was impossible for me to the the light feedback from the keypad when pressing the keys. ... show more

    • Easy to program, setup and secure to outside wall
This is a simple wall mounted garage door opener. I made a small error in reading the programming instructions so I added about 5 minutes to a normal installation process - total installation time from getting the ladder and tools to putting the ladder and tools away - 25 minutes. Opener uses (1) 9 volt battery (already installed and ready to go), has a backlit number pad, and an added feature that I really like, a beep tone for every number you push (lets you know the button press was actually made).     • A great choice for a replacement keypad
I like everything about this wireless keypad. I have installed many of these type of keypads and this one is the one that I would recommend. It has all the features of any keypad and it has a "beep" option for every time you press a button. The instructions refer to it as a "buzzer". It's really simple, but it allows you to know that you've pressed a button or pushed it hard enough. And you can easily disable the beep if you don't want it. This keypad is easy to program, very easy to install, and it worked with my garage door opener. And, the battery cover is easy to open and close. The similar factory keypad has a batter cover that is difficult to pry off, even with a screwdriver. This cover can be opened easily with a coin, which makes a difference when it's cold outside and your battery is dead. ... show more

    • Worked Nicely
I did have trouble getting my Liftmaster MyQ garage door opener to recognize this using the instructions included. However I was able to program it using the learn mode through the MyQ app as a traditional remote control. Once I did this, it worked well. The battery included was dead and had to be replaced but that wasn’t a big deal because I wasn’t expecting one to be in there anyway. You may want use your own screws as I had one shear off the head in the process of mounting it. The unit appears to work flawlessly though.     • Easy to setup
This was easy to pair with my garage door opener I just followed the instructions and it worked just perfect. I was also able to install a secondary code to give to guest that would need access. I mounted it next to my garage door on the outside and it is able to transmit the code to the opener.
