I’ll very blunt, I use cotton swabs to clean my nose, yeah to pick it, it beats using a finger. I’m sure this isn’t the recommend use, so don’t try this at home. With that said, precision tips work wonderfully for my intended use. I’ve been using the Qtip brand for years. I’ve tried a few alternative brands but until I found these, I always felt the Qtips were better. The problem with the Qtip Brand is that the point on the top is damaged about 50% of the time, so it’s basically just a plain roundish tip, for twice the money. I contact Qtip repeatedly about this over the years and nothing changed. Also the offered to send me coupons that never came. Fast forward, I found this no name brand on Amazon and even though the price was not much better, I thought I’d give them a try. I’m here to tell you, the point is precise and firm on100% of my product on arrival. They are slightly smaller than Qtips, but they are better constructed and actually hold up better. In a nut shell, this is now my brand and if you are looking for these types of precision cotton swabs, I recommend you try these. ... show more

I never thought I would submit a review for cotton swabs until I came across these on Amazon, and saw they came in black, or pointy ended and swirly tipped for that matter. I was searching for regular Q-tips, originally and this product popped up, as well. Black cotton swabs you say? I read the other reviews and saw pics and thought to myself, if there is a way to see the gunk that's going to come out of my ear or whatever else I use it on that I don't see normally from using white cotton swabs then I must have this. Well, it's true...using these, you will see what you don't see using a regular cotton swab if you're into that kind of thing, LOL. The Japanese are always one step ahead when it comes to beauty products and related. As to functionality, I like that they are sturdy and I feel that my ears get much cleaner using these than they did using an average cotton swab. Bonus points for coming in storage containers and I am using the white ones with the pointy ends for cleaning crevices in our kitchen sink, my keyboard, and so on. Bottom line: Life is too short to not try black cotton swabs at least once. If you are a clean freak oh, I think you will love the pointy ended ones for cleaning. If you want to see every little thing that comes out of your ear that will not show up on a white cotton swab, you will love this! ... show more

These appear to be as good or better than the q-tip precision cotton swabs, I’ve ordered in the past. However, I’m leaving a 3-star review, because one of the cotton swabs was dirty when it arrived, and it makes me question the cleanliness/quality control in the facility where they are manufactured.

I bought a similar product years ago at RiteAid and have never been able to find them since. On a lark, I thought I'd see if Amazon might have them or something similar. Sure enough! Amazon had an even better option than what I bought originally. They are a must-have for makeup application. That tiny tip fits into the smallest of spaces to wipe off smears or unwanted product. I can also use them to apply the tiniest amount of product where I need it. I use them all the time to clean up my lip liner or eyeshadow that i've used underneath my lower lash line. I had bought the pointy end cotton swabs in the store and loved them but had a hard time finding them again. I came to Amazon, found this huge pack for a GREAT deal and will probably never buy another kind of swab again. And as fast as I use them it will be a LONG time before I need to buy more! I love how they are packaged in several smaller bags, I throw one in my gym bag, one in each bathroom, one at my boyfriends house, and still have a ton unopened as back ups. I decided to give this product a try since the national brand is so much more expensive. I am using the pointed cotton- tipped swabs to touch up my eyeliner, and they are perfect for the job. These are a bit more pointy than the other brand, which is perfect for my needs.
