I'm 68, have played music most of my life and consider myself to be a self taught song writer. While most of my writing has taken place with the help of the guitar, I wanted to broaden my ability. Now I've used midi keyboards and such with computer composition, but I've never disciplined myself enough to learn how to actually play the keyboard, in particular the piano. This setup is perfect for a beginner like me. The lighted keyboards, the detailed demo's have allowed me to pick and peck learn my way around on how to make chords. While I have no vision or aspirations of trying to become accomplished on the piano, it is my wish to be able to add another tool or approach to my songwriting. I was very surprised at the size and weight of this model, unlike some I looked at which were cheaply made and lightweight. The sounds and features also surpass most of the cheaper brand keyboards as well. I actually feel like I'm playing on a semi pro level instrument. Now of course I have better quality headphones and mics to use than what was provided, but that's not the point. For the family or individual that's just looking for the entry level electric piano to learn from, this is a complete kit. As time goes by and it does become a continued interest, you will want to upgrade certain aspects, but for the moment, you have everything you'll need to get started. So for me, this is definitely what I would consider a worthwhile investment and if never goes beyond this point, I still feel like I have a quality instrument to enjoy. Thank you. ... show more

This keyboard is perfect for a beginner to learn on. I ordered this piano for my 5 year old to play with and he absolutely loves it. It has a learning system that provides lighted keys to teach people how to play songs and become more advanced users of a keyboard. There are hundreds of tones, and 50 preset songs to choose from. There are 2 different learning modes as well. The keyboard is also capable of doing percussion notes as well. Great keyboard especially to learn and get the basics of how to play.     • Basic Beginner Piano
This is a basic beginner piano with a few nice features but mainly a less than quality build. The area to hold the sheet music slides in but is easily moveable and can fall over easily if you have too much top weight. The microphone and headphones while a nice touch would be better to simply not include at the quality level. Other than that, the piano itself plays fine and is good for practice and learning but it's not going to sustain long-term. So if you're looking for something on the relatively inexpensive side, this piano works well without breaking the bank but be aware that the features and functions of the piano are likewise limited and the quality of the construction leaves a lot to be desired. ... show more

    • Good beginner or portable...
So I go this to drag to some backyard jams, so I wouldn't have to plug in. It takes batteries and is easy to use. There are in my opinion way to many presets. It gets loud, but the speakers are not amazing. That said for a younger person with aspiration it's pretty dang good. There's so many beats to get a feel for sound.
