    • This Electric Wheel Chair Restored My Lost Freedom

Due to severe Osteoarthritis in my lower back and both knees, I have been wheel chair bound for several years. I was looking for lightweight, portable, electric wheel chair that would allow me to leave the house and go places by myself. After trying several models available and not being satisfied, I hit on this one. This is one of the best values for the money I have ever purchased. Upon arrival, I unpacked it and it practically unfolded itself from the box. Is is so easy to fold and unfold and there is virtually zero assembly to perform to place it into service. And believe me, you do not want to be standing a parking lot in the hot Texas sun assembling a wheel chair. It is light weight yet extremely sturdy. I have used my chair outside the house almost every day since it arrived. It maneuvers nimbly around in hospitals, Dr's office buildings, retail stores, restaurants and anywhere else I used to walk. it also works extremely well on sidewalks and wheel chair ramps With its two battery packs, I have yet to become stranded because I've run out of "juice". I just swap 'em around in less than 1 minute and keep on motoring. They charge up quickly in the evening and I never leave he house without both battery packs fully charged. The seat is very comfortable (I am 5'10 and 225 lbs) and I have spent hours at a time in it with no discomfort. The flip out foot rest provides for a comfortable extension for my legs. The controller is smooth and easy to operate and keeps the chair following the intended track. It is easy to attach and take off for transport. I wish there was a mute option for the back-up alarm feature. This beeping is annoying when maneuvering in an office or an elevator. Besides, we're not operating it on a loading dock! I really cannot find any faults in it's design or assembly. The frame is tight and the welds are substantial, in line with its 5 year warranty on the chair frame. One feature that another chair had was a USB port on it's Controller to enable a user to recharge a cell phone. This was a darn nice feature, but it did not overcome several other deficiencies in that wheel chair. I'd also like to see a better accommodation for packages in the area underneath the chair. Finally, the Customer Support was super. I had contacted them to request they expedite the delivery time frame on my chair as I was about to move and they did it right away with no questions asked. And they followed up to insure I was happy! I am totally pleased with my purchase and would recommend this electric wheel chair to anyone that is tired of being cooped up in a house and wants to get out and enjoy life again. This won't replace my lost mobility as a result of my osteoarthritis, but is has made a huge, positive difference in my quality of life. ... show more

The W5521 chair is a life changer. This chair is incredibly durable, and I can say without hesitation, that this chair will last for years, if not decades! It's very well made, and does not in the least bit come across as flimsy or cheap. If anything it feels and operates like an expensive, high end electronic chair. I fully expect my mother will be stopped and asked about this chair anytime she uses it in public. And with that being said, it does fold down, to allow for easy transportation. I have no concerns with the ability to fold the chair down, and place it in my trunk for transportation. I am not certain that I can pick the chair up and lift it into my trunk, however, I think most average size men could do so without any hesitation. I would say that most individuals that use the chair, would need someone to help transport the chair, unless one had a modified vehicle that allows the chair to drive into the vehicle, and if that's the case you're golden with this chair! Do not overthink the setup for this chair, there is basically no setup involved, it comes well packaged, and delivered to your door. One person can easily slide the chair out of the box onto the floor, just make sure you slide it out with the wheels down (not up), so you can simply lift the chair into it's upright position. Once the chair is upright, slide the levers on each back tire into "Electric" mode, and plug the charger into the joystick, and charge for 6-8 hours for your first full charge, and then charge as you need to from then on out. Some customers mentioned a beeping noise while in reverse, however, this model does not beep - thank goodness! It is whisper quiet whether you're moving forward or reverse. The ride is extremely smooth, and the chair is whisper quiet while in use. The lowest speed is plenty fast enough for normal everyday use, and the fastest speed is very fast. I would think you would only use that speed for outdoors, when you're maybe traveling down a street or on a sidewalk. I say this because the speed options are very impressive! Maneuverability is impressive with this chair, and I can see where this chair will be used a lot for outings outside of the house, but it will also be used quite frequently in the home as well. All in all, if you're on the fence about buying this chair, just buy it! You will not be disappointed! This chair is going to give my family member the freedom they need to live their life comfortably while feeling with neuromuscular issues that affects their walking. I received this power chair. The packaging was great. It was shipped great but upon taking it out of the box and connecting the battery to the charger we soon realize that the battery was no good. This is a 24 V system so there is no replacement battery options for this power chair there is no customer service. You cannot contact anyone, horrible experience being that I'm a 38 year mechanic and have extremely good skills. I bought a universal 48 V battery and using a step down to 24 V transformer I re-engineered the power chair so now I have a battery that last twice as long and the chair works flawlessly now with the new battery configuration that I designed and replaced with , although I could've returned the chair for a full refund the chair was so comfortable. I was just really disappointed about the battery situation. That's why I took it upon myself to put a larger more capacity battery in it now everything works as it should. ... show more

This chair has given me a newfound freedom .I was previously un able to walk any distance at all no I will be able to venture out and do so many things I was previously un able to do before.i recently went to the camper show the chair performed with no problem and climbed inclines up and down with no issues and battery life surprised me I rode all afternoon and only lost one l I ne on the battery indicator.i had several people comment on how they wished they had one.. it fit in the back of my Kia perfectly.
