The media could not be loaded. I never heard of this game until I saw it here on Amazon. Then I looked into it. It’s apparently rising in popularity. WARNING: There’s math involved! But very basic elementary arithmetic, so don’t worry. I think this game would be great, not just for kids, but for older ones who need to keep their brains active. Now, unlike some reviews, I’m not going to rate the actual game play. C’mon, that’s not fair. I’m rating the actual game product. This is a nice set. I like it. The wooden numbers and the main structure is all this light unstained wood. This feels like something that my grandfather would have handcrafted as a gift. The play area has a green felt. Also included are 12 color dice (2 for each player) as well as 12 raw wood (same as the board) dice. I thought that was a nice touch… they actually thought to give you a matching set of dice in case you didn’t want to play with the colored ones. (Unless this is part of the game… again, I haven’t played it yet. However, from what I’ve read so far, I think I might be right.) Additionally, there’s a nice little storage bag for the dice. Overall, I’m really pleased with the quality and the aesthetic of this game. I look forward to bringing it over and introducing it to my parents in an effort to help them stay sharp. They love games, but how many games of Sequence and Rummy can a couple play without needing to try something new? (Apparently A LOT. LOL!) You don’t have to think too hard. This looks really nice.     • Get your arithmetic skills warmed up - fun, fast to learn game
A simple to learn game for all ages - Shut the Box Dice game. Using your arithmetic skills, shut down the numbers from one to 10 by throwing a couple of dice. Object is to have the lowest score at the end of the game. The wooden box is well built. All the numbers are fastened well and flip up & down easily. One very nice feature is the felt cover which muffles the dice sound. The game comes with two sets of dice, one colored and one wooden for a total of 24. Each player will get two die, up to six players per game. A small bag keeps the dice when finished. The heavy duty cardboard box will store the game. If playing with children you can keep the game simple. Just shut down the numbers that are on the dice or add up to the dice total. Amp up the game by introducing all the math functions - add, subtract, multiply or divide. If any of the remaining numbers equate to the dice total, shut down those numbers! The game includes the rules and some example equations. This game will sharpen your math skills. Looking forward to introducing the Shut the Box dice game on our next board game morning. First impression was quite positive. The box and wood construction of this game with the green felt is quality. The game came with numerous colored and nice wood dice. The instructions that came with the game were minimal and did not explain why there were so many dice. Looking online, we found various instructions and ways to play this game. With four people game play was very quick! This can be a pro or con. After two games, interest was lost and overall impression was meh. The best use for this game might be educational ... for example using for addition and subtraction type activities. ... show more

The game alone is fun as hell and all of our friends enjoy playing. The overall "frame" is built out of like 1/4" wood and I feel like if I drop it on accident some of the numbers and overall frame might just explode. The fact that you get 12 colored die and 12 wood finish die is amazing.

We first discovered this game on a road trip last year, so I was so excited to find a 6-person version online. (Most versions I've seen are 2 or 4 player!) My kids (8 and 10) were super excited to open this and try it out. I LOVE how it encourages them to do math so they're learning while having fun, and it doesn't feel like a math lesson. We didn't know when we played it on the road trip that you can use multiplication and division while playing this, so I'm grateful to the instructions for pointing that out! It's challenging enough for adults and a lot of fun for kids (and younger kids could play as part of a team and be the official "number knocker downer." I also find myself playing this alone as a brain break in between work projects. Bonus! This is a high-quality set. The felt is really nice. A couple of the number tiles were a little sticky but overall it's clearly well made, and I definitely recommend it! ... show more

Any game that will get the grand-kids away from video games for a while and have some "analog" fun is always a plus in my book. Enter ELONGDI 6 Players Shut The Box Dice Game. It is fun, requires adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing (depending on the difficulty level you choose to play at). So it's not really for children that are too young. This is such a fun game for a group of people to play, so I'm glad this board accommodates for up to 6 players. The board feels lightweight but sturdy enough as long as you're not too rough with it. The numbers open and close good and the felt on the game board is nice for cutting down some of the noise from the dice being thrown. I like the light colored wood because it's easy to see the numbers. The game comes packaged very well and the game pieces are secured so that nothing gets broken in transit.
