  • Doesn’t fit with Smith Little handle as advertised it is for
On first inspection I was excited to see the easy crimping connectors for the new tubing. So much so I almost forgot to put the handle on BEFORE attaching. I’m glad I didn’t clip the crimps before, they are actually a bit difficult to get off without the correct crimp removal tool. However, after trying to install this several ways I came to the conclusion that these crimps do not fit in the space provided. You can see that by pushing both crimps to the top of the hose they force the tubes apart and into the metal handle. Then trying to install the bottom crimps there’s still not enough room. This appears to be due to the 1.5mm hump where the internal part of the crimp is supposed to slide in easily. Warning: The rubber is probably tight enough on the metal grippy torch tubing that a crimp doesn’t seem necessary. This is probably true but, due to the nature of both of these being FLAMMABLE GAS TUBES AND ACCELERANT…. DO NOT INSTALL AND USE WITHOUT PROPER CRIMPING INSTALLED!!! Seriously, this could easily cause a small enough leak to make a giant fireball that will burn hands, face or even start a fire in your workshop/home. Could I use these tubes and not have the round handle? Sure. Is that a good idea? No… because the handle provides a very solid surface to grip. All in all, given this was advertised as a ‘replacement hoses for Little torch’ I am disappointed. I could have ordered the correctly fitting hoses from another source and be back to work right now. Instead I have to make this poor review, drive to the returns facility, order another new product from another source, wait around and then install the correct tubing correctly for safe non-explosive working conditions. ... show more

  • doesn't really fit little torch
tubes / ferrels are too wide to really fit little torch. if you mount tubes as per smith's instructions - the process of sliding the torch casing back over the tubes - it'll strip the tape at the end of the casing - and the casing will unravel. might work - but messy. might be fine for other torches - but don't recommend for use with the Smith. ... show more

  • Good hose set, but...
Decent build quality, fair value. However if you have a genuine Smith Little Torch you will find that you can barely get the hoses onto the torch body and there is no way to install the clamps. Prior to installing the clamps the hoses are tight against each other due to the slightly larger size of the hoses. There is no room to install the clamps... ... show more

  • Wrong size for Little Torch!
This is sold as a replacement fuel & oxygen line for the Smith Little Torch. IT IS NOT. The hoses are bigger OD, and while they technically fit on the torch supply fittings, the torch handle will not fit over the lines with the retaining clips installed.
