Hey this was a life saver and was affordable. We installed a window unit and saw it was with a standard plug but one with only one prong vertical and other horizontal. We went to the store my husband saw and outlet that had one horizontal snagged the face and box for it and when we installed the new outlet and he grabbed to plug to plug that AC in we realized the horizontal prong was on the opposite side 🤦🏻♀️ lol all that work and now the store is closed…no AC tonight. Well he did our homework this time and found this adapter and got it shipped next day. Used it until we could get our electrician out to dedicate a sole breaker for it to have the right outlet. I bought this for my power tool that has a huge plug that would not go in my backyard outlet. Up until now, I will have to drag a extension cord just so I could get the juice to my tool. Both adaptors included in this package are identical. This adaptor has 5-15P blades with a plug to fit several incoming blade types like a 6-20 plug. I had incorrectly assumed the second adaptor would be the reverse with 6-20P blades and 5-15 plug.

This adapter feels sturdy and well built. After using for 20 minutes there is no hint of warmth or other bad signs. It should be obvious but after reading a number of negative reviews I just have to say that THIS IS NOT A VOLTAGE CONVERTER!!!! What it does is allow already compatible electric devices to connect despite incompatible plugs and receptacles. In my case I had built a plug in temperature controller specifically for 240 volt, 20 amp supply line but all the components (PID, electronic relay, van, panel meter) are rated for 110v through 240v except the wall plug which is 240v 20amp. When I later decided to use it for a 110v application it was quick and easy to just buy plug adapters and it works perfectly because I am plugging in a 110v rated device. If one were to plug in a 220/240v device as the receptacle end of this adapter allows a range of things could happen with most of them bad and some potentially deadly. ... show more
