I have been using this camera for about 3 weeks. So far I'm very happy with it. I purchased a 128GB SD card because I do not want to pay for a subscription. It works great. The app is very easy to use. I have not tried the tracking feature because I really do not have a use for it. I have it mounted about 14 ft off of the ground. The only minor complaint I have is the motion detection is not that sensitive but I believe that is due to it being mounted to high. Overall I'm very satisfied with this camera. I plan on buying several more. I highly recommend it. ... show more

Let's start with the fact that this camera, unlike so many others, fully supports 5GHz Wifi - giving greatly improved quality, range, and streaming speed over cameras that are 2.4GHz - only. That, by itself, is a huge advantage. Getting started - The camera is well-built, despite a fully plastic exterior. After 2 months of use in a number of rainstorms, it has remained completely waterproof and fully functional. Installation is simple - just download the required software from the requisite iOS or Android appstore, set up a free account, and get started. You can install the camera using either 2 or 3 provided screws. Configuration is easy and adding it to Alexa control worked well. Note you can set the camera up using a free cloud plan rather than a subscription. This option is a bit hidden. Camera control is excellent. Do yourself a favor and don't tap and drag on the screen in order to pan it - use the PTZ control for a much better experience. The camera pan allows you to cover 360 degrees, so you can fully cover the view around it. The image quality is wonderful - clear and colorful in the day and night (using LEDs on the camera). At night, with the LED lights on, I get a clear view out to about 25 feet from the camera is full color. And you can turn off the visible light and use IR LEDs for surveillance that doesn't give away its position in the dark. The camera DOES make noise when panning, but not loud at all. This is by far the best quality of any of the security cameras I have owned over the last 10 years. The person-detection function of the camera works quite well. In each case where a person was in my backyard (power company, lawn crew, and neighbor kids picking up a lost toy) the camera picked them up and notified me. The intercom feature allowed me to easily carry on a conversation with the power company person. It wasn't required, but I added a 128GB SD card for local storage. Simple to configure and format. "Just works." Negatives - The holes for installation screws are enclosed in a tight area which means you need to use a small screwdriver to get at them, Would be difficult to use a powered screwdriver or drill with a bit to do this without off-angling the screws. Not a big deal, but could make installation a bit more difficult than necessary if you are in an awkward location. I would personally have gone for a large screw diameter, but the ones used work and have given me no problems. The waterproof USB connector is great, but you'll have trouble replacing it if your long cable gets damaged due to the unusual connector. I've been using home security cameras for many years, and so far this one had the best daytime and nighttime quality I have seen. The 5GHz connectivity makes it much more compatible to a variety of home networking schemes, particularly those that make it very difficult to connect 2.4GHz devices without jumping through hoops. AMAZON VINE REVIEW of the AUBOR SMART WiFi Security Camera I am a tech guy, so I will start with the technology that separates THIS security camera from others. It uses a 5G network! Better signal, stronger signal, longer, wider, and farther than any 2.X transmission. The signal is interpreted as a standard COLOR IMAGE in daylight or a Hi-Res COLOR Night Vision image that the software interprets. That just means that the actual COLORS at night might NOT be what you see on your phone. It does NOT diminish the ALERT that someone is OUT THERE where they should not be. The 360 degree pan and tilt is a terrific feature WHEN IT WORKS. My camera had instances where it would search a 360-degree pattern and stick at some random point. Inputs on the app did not correct the problem, but initiating some movement in the cam’s periphery DID get it back in working order. I could not find ANY info on this fault, and although it IS a recurring problem it is easily corrected by “waving” at the camera. The ability to add a 128 GB TF card and the free 7-day revolving video storage should allow us to use the system without paying for the cloud service. That might NOT be the best advice for business users or people with remote sites who may need to document entry or theft of property or livestock. But for those of us where appropriate, the ability to take advantage of free cloud storage is a definite plus. Other features of note include the VERY bright lights that turn on at night when motion is detected by the camera. They are fast, bright, and startling after moving in darkness. They certainly got my attention and stopped my motion even though I was aware they would respond to my movements. The inclusion of FOUR infrared lights in the mix assures that ANY motion will be “seen” even in the absence of light. It is a welcome inclusion, especially for properties with a truly dark night sky. In the total absence of ambient light, the sensors are severely diminished, but the IR will catch and respond to that movement. Another nice feature of this camera. The duplex communication works perfectly as long as the “outside” person is not riding a mower wearing hearing protection. I am not trying to be funny or facetious. It was a situation that happened early in my use of the camera. It was the first and only time the siren had been activated. I can say with certainty that the mower came to a stop with some alacrity! The camera is DESIGNED to be mounted outside. The IP 66 (Intrusion Protection) rating means it is functionally waterproof against driving rain and direct streams of water. As long as it is NOT submerged it should “weather the storm.” The excellent screw-down power cable for the camera completes the “outdoor” circuit as both waterproof and sealed against intrusion. It is a straightforward design, but perfect for the one job it has to do. Everything up to this point is positive about this camera. What follows is the “less than expected” results using the AUBOR Smart WiFi Camera. The app is robust, if a little dated, but it does allow “better than good” control of the camera’s viewing range. One of the other VINE REVIEWERS, M. Corum posted an excellent control issue correction that I was completely unaware of: “Do yourself a favor and don't tap and drag on the screen in order to pan it - use the PTZ control for a much better experience.” This proved to be an excellent suggestion so, on behalf of ALL of us, THANK YOU, M. Corum! In other respects, the app goes from fair to poor based mostly on how much you need to get it to do. It SHOULD work flawlessly with ALEXA and GOOLE Assistant. ALEXA recognized it, but I could never get the interaction that I expected from that contact. And the GOOGLE Assistant was NEVER recognized or interacted with. I ended up NOT integrating the camera into the ALEXA-centric devices in our house. The bottom line for this otherwise excellent camera is that the CloudEdge app and the “user’s manual” could both use an update. It is also worth noting that you can now load CloudEdge on your Windows 11 PC using an ANDROID EMULATOR. This allows you to use PC’s or Tablets to interact with this camera. But even with the “leaky” app this camera is both a bargain (PRICE) and a deal (TECHNOLOGY) for anyone wanting to add real-time intrusion deterrence to their home. The collection of features, robust build quality, and overall capabilities of the camera make the deficiencies of the app an acceptable compromise. This is an excellent camera. It is simple to set up, you can activate it and USE it for free and the tools it provides make your home, and you, safer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED – FIVE STARS! We have various issues in the neighborhood that has made more cameras necessary. I got this to watch over a blind spot where people would hide out by our gate for illicit activities. I'm happy to say just the presence of it decreased the issues significantly. I picked up quite a few cameras that promised they would connect to 5G networks and never did. I'm pleased to say this does support 5G and creates decent-quality images—though if the person is moving, trying to take a screenshot for security is difficult. My two key gripes with it are that detection can be spotty at night and many of its key features, like AI detection, cost extra and are sold a la carte.
