I purchased this kit for a student. It is just the right level of difficulty for a student who has some knowledge about woodworking and assembling. The one slightly difficult part of setting up the circuits. The wires are very thin and the connecting rings are very small. But then again… wouldn’t want it to be too easy for a 12 year old? These kids can also be painted . I wasn’t aware they actually ran on batteries. We are having a lot of fun with them. Great purchase. Better than described! ... show more

Personally I enjoy putting these together with my kids. They are kind of like a 3d puzzle with batteries. There is enough in the box to keep you busy for a while. We try to do about one a month. Instructions are easy to follow.

The media could not be loaded. My kids (ages 8, 10, & 12) really enjoyed putting these together. The instructions were good but could use a little more clarity. The only problem we had was one of the battery boxes can damaged so we will have to replace it to finish the last build. The instructions are vague and difficult for a child to follow on their own. This craft was meant for my child to do 100% on her own while I supervised and it was extremely difficult for her
