I wanted an inexpensive sketchbook with lots of pages that I wouldn’t be precious about using so I took a shot at these. I like the sturdy covers and there are 100 pages with a nice perforated edge for tear out. The pages aren’t white, sort of off white, which I also didn’t mind. The paper texture reminds a bit of the paper we used to get in elementary school to draw on, which was a darker manilla colored and fuzzed up when you erased on it, or got soggy when painted on. This paper doesn’t get soggy nor fuzz up when it’s erased…it’s very strong. The only thing I don’t like about it is some of the markers and he’ll pens I have don’t lay down color on it well. But knowing these limitations doesn’t affect my like of the books. I just work around some of the issues I found, like I would with any paper…none are perfect. ... show more

Bought these for my toddler who loves to draw. He’s used markers and crayons as well as as pencils. I’m sure these are only meant for sketching but the texture of the paper is thick enough for the marker usage.. it’ll bleed through a little (only because my toddler will color in the same spot until he makes a hole). The size is great to take along with you anywhere. He fits it in his small backpack to take for church. Sturdy covers and easy to rip off along the perforated edges ... show more

I started keeping a nature journal during pandemic lockdown and I am still addicted to it. I can press leaves, sketch or just record the weather and the birds I see. Spirals on the left work too, but I like these a bit more. These are nice sketchpads for beginners but definitely not professional quality. The paper is thin and not suitable for anything besides basic charcoal or graphite or colored pencil or possibly ballpoint ink if applied lightly. That being said! I got these sketchpads for my 10 and 11 year old granddaughters, who are becoming quite the artistes, and they are perfectly suitable for them.
