This telescopic aluminum pole is great quality, is very durable and can be adjusted in length from 5ft. out to 12ft. I was surprised at the 4" circumference of the pole which has foam padding on the top end and mid section for securing a good grip when using it. It is easy to extend the pole with the installed locking tabs and the metal screw-on end is sturdy so no need to worry about parts breaking. The included hook is also very durable being made out of ABS material and the aluminum rod is made with anodized aluminum to help prevent rust when used around water. I ordered this product for use on my bass boat mainly for pushing me out of shallow water situations and also snagging the anchor line when submerged in the water. It will also come in handy when trying to access things up high outside my house instead of having to break out a ladder. This telescopic rod has some weight to it so no need to worry about it blowing out of the boat which could be the case with lightweight aluminum items. This is a nice quality extension pole and nice hook, it extends to 12 feet and stays sturdy at the length, you can use the like for anything you want as it has a metal screw on attachment for like a broom head, good performance and light weight, not sure if it floats yet
