Keep in mind; I like this camera and am overall happy with the purchase. the testimonies report a good many features about this 'Corder and all of the positives - that's because the company states it rewards the top 5 reviews each month with potentially free product (states it right in the special instructions card that comes with the product), so just note that the reviews are biased. There are some negatives that should be posted so that you get a full picture of what you are getting. Again, I do like this camera and would buy it again. Firstly, the boom mike is misrepresented in the pictures. the mike has a mini jack output at the end of the winded cord but the camera only accepts mini USB so there is a pigtail that must be attached to the cord and then to the camera - not a deal breaker but I hate misrepresentations, also it looks kind of ghetto with all of this cord and extensions. Secondly, the instructions are very dated (references windows XP and Vista only) and if grammar is your kryptonite then strap in 'cuase you will blow a fuse; again, not a deal breaker but something to get prepped for. Also, the instructions say nothing about the 3 lenses that come with the camera but you can figure it out, just play with it. Lastly, customer service is absent. I sent 3 emails asking questions about set up and have not received an answer. All in all its a good little camera. It has many features that move it up to a semi - professional piece of equipment. Read the other reviews, they are accurate but are kiss ups for free stuff so balance out your expectations and you will be fine. ... show more

I've been a professional videographer for the last 28 years. I started in this profession using analog video of All Sorts. I've used a plethora a video platforms. All of them cost 10...20 even even a thousand times more than this little camera. I purchased this camera to record my fifteen-year-old son's track meets and just family life in 4k. Not expecting much for $250, I took you to work with me today and put it up against a 4K Panasonic camera that cost $3,500. Turn the cameras on and put the Panasonic on Full Auto. This camera blew it away with the rich colors and quality of video. My co-workers were amazed, and so was I. I expected this camera to fall well short of the quality of the Panasonic. Boy was I wrong. At first everyone was laughing at the little 4K that cost $250. 30 minutes later, everybody wanted to hold it and run through its options. The way I came across this camera was by asking Google which where the best 4K cameras. I didn't ask for a price my only stipulation was small consumer - prosumer cameras. This camera showed up as number 10 out of a lineup of JVC, Cannon, Sony and Panasonic cameras. The professional camera that my department uses was on that list higher then this inexpensive camera. But after looking at it, this camera should be at number three or higher and number one for pricing!!!! ... show more

The 4k picture is just amazing when played back on my TV. You also get extra features like far zoom, extended recording time, stability, better lighting pickup, and this has one of the coolest options which is to record online with a wifi direct connection. This blows away any little webcam for professional and memorable recordings. The way this is also designed is that you don’t need to be watching what you are recording directly and can have this recording at waist level while moving and still get a great picture. The menu is touch screen, but could be improved a bit. I think the price for this is perfect for what you are getting. While the battery length on it gets you couple of hours recording, it comes with a second back up battery. It also comes with a remote for remote control, SD card, a case, external microphone, and HDMI cable. Camcorders have come a long way and this has all of the newest available technology that takes 4k video as long as your memory card can support, a much better stable picture, very large picture resolutions, connect directly to wifi for streaming ability, and little things like noise and infared/light filters that help get the best picture and sound that a cell phone cant. I bought this mainly to use for my kids activities from sports to recitals to help capture the moments as they grow up. The batteries are not bad at all with 2 hours of charge time and two of them included. It comes with a flashlight that is battery operated and doesn’t come them for some reason. I think the ability to connect to wifi is the added bonus that is simple to set up and much better than your standard webcam for advanced ussers.
