I was a little worried when it got delivered because in a pretty small box but it just vacuumed sealed. After opening the plastic seal I let it air out for a few hours and was happy to find no bad chemical smells. It also plumped up nicely. It is very soft so if you want to brave using it without a cover you will not be disappointed but I put it a duvet right away. After using it of a couple weeks I can say it keeps me significantly warmer that my comparable non-down blankets while also being more lightweight. The box stitch seems to be of high quality as far as I can tell and should keep the down feather approximately spaced out. It is worth it spend more to get real down feathers. ... show more

First of all, a down comforter will have its benefits and drawbacks compared to polyester. So you really want to compare this with other down comforter experiences. This one is very nice and very warm, but you have to take care of it and use it like a down comforter and not a polyester one. It's very warm as they advertise, so much so that I reduced the temperature of the house. I guess it will pay for itself soon. lol. It's fluffy and I haven't noticed much leaking of feathers. That's where the mix-cotton cover they talk about comes in handy. You need a tight weave fabric to keep those down feathers in. Now down comforters require a little bit more care. Your goal is to make an even fluff for a best experience. I always wash anything that can be washed before use, including comforters. You want to use a big laundry machine, if it doesn't really fit in yours, go somewhere else to wash it, as you don't want to rip it. For the first wash, I didn't use any soap, and if you do use soap, use very very little. You need to get all the soap off the down if it's ever to fluff up again. Better yet, don't use soap unless there's some stain you need to get out. I used luke warm water for the wash, and normal cold rinse cycle. Like very comfortable to put your hands in temperature. If you can't do that with your setup, better use cold only. Then in the dryer you have to take it out and rearrange it every 20 minutes or so to dry evenly. Low heat, down is a natural material after all. My dryer also has a no heat option, which I used to fluff it even more. So in the end I got a very evenly fluffy comforter, which makes having a positive experience very easy. lol ... show more

I usually buy my down comforter at Costco's but this time I decided to buy it at Amazon, my dad has diabetes and always feels cold, especially living at Florida, most of the days the AC is on and my dad feels uncomfortable, I got him this comforter and he feels very warm and relaxed, the material is very plush and soft and very light,the queen size duet cover fits exactly, quality seems better than Costco's brand , at first felt like very light but after a while after unboxing got fluffier, so far happy with my purchase highly recommended. ... show more
