Everything about this product is excessive. First, do you really need 96 tablets? Probably not. I think about 12, at most, will get the job done. Second, scrubbing your sink may not get the pink out after brushing--do it quickly. I am pretty sure it will eventually wear off of the sink, but make sure your kid knows how to spit IN the sink. You might want to coat the bathroom in plastic trash bags if you have one of those kids who will open their mouths and let slobber drip out in a fit of dramatics at the slightest provocation from something slightly distasteful. Third, yeah, your kid's tongue might be purple a few days. However, chances are good you are here because your child is not getting every side and angle of their teeth properly when brushing. I have just started using these on my fifth child after successfully using the similar GUM ones on the others. If nothing else, these let you see where you need to spot check because your kid missed and saves you from having to re-brush their entire mouths just to make sure. I was willing to pay for tablets I will never use in order to get those I will use, so I can prevent my child from getting tooth decay, but I wasn't quite willing to purchase 248 of the GUM ones at a slightly higher price to get the product I used for my other children. I also don't mind a slightly discolored sink if I can help my child become more independent with brushing. I feel GUM's product was better, but getting it is much more difficult, now. This seems to be the only product available of its kind safely available to the general public. The GUM brand comes in a pack of 248 from a dental supply company directly, and although someone is selling them on Amazon in smaller quantities that come packaged in plastic baggies-- I don't feel safe giving those to my child even if they are individually wrapped. ... show more

My kid and I both used these to check our brushing. It will be a great tool to improve his focus and concentration. It's fun and pretty gross to see where we miss.

I purchased these teeth brushing tablets to help my 6 year old daughter improve her tooth brushing skills by giving her a visual of the plaque that is being left behind on her teeth. These tablets do turn the plaque purple, but they also turn everything else purple as well. Even after several attempts to brush the dye off her teeth, they were still quite a bit purple. The plaque was definitely gone, but the dye was not. Her whole mouth along with her hands, lips, and the bathroom sink were stained as well. It took extra scrubbing to get the purple off of everything and I was not able to really show her the difference in her teeth before and after. My kids weren't brushing great. So I got these now when they say they brushed their teeth good then I have them chew one up and then spit so they can see if they didn't then there will be purple everywhere they missed.
