If you only need this to protect your counter and maybe put a sponge or rag on it, this might work. First, it is not quite 30 inches (I needed every bit of the 30” because my sink is wider). Because of the way it is made, it is sloped to allow water to drain. However, the part underneath that give this its slope is a soft rubber (same as the rest of it) and the grooves are wide. Thus, anything heavier than a sponge tilts to one side as the soft rubber gives way. My dish soap and hand soap dispenser tilt to the side (and sometimes fall over). Second, the water doesn’t really drain away, it just kind of sits in puddles. This would be fine since it is protecting the sink from hard water, but with everything else, it’s just not worth it. In addition, the part behind my faucet is deeper than this, so water still gets there. Off to find another solution…. ... show more

This doesn't quite fit all the way around my faucet so there's a bit of a gap on the back side. Which is a problem for me because my sink is on my island in my open concept kitchen/living area. So it's noticeable. Because it doesn't fit all the way it does sort of "lean" forward into my sink so nothing will actually sit on the mat like hand soap without falling into my sink. ... show more

New travel trailer but cheap light weight materials mean I need to protect things. Every time I turn off the water from washing hands I was leaving puddles so I measured the space and got this. I like the black because it goes well with my interior but it needs to be rinsed and cleaned from hard water and soap scum.
