I totally did not expect these to actually extend nearly 6 feet long with metal poles. We have a large pond my kids love catching wildlife in. We have gotten the cheap plastic nets from the department stores before but they are not terribly helpful. We recently got some inflatable boats for them to take out so I was looking for a net to help them catch frogs. Gave these a try and did not realize that they were actually extending metal poles. Plenty sturdy enough to catch bullfrogs with lots of reach. The buckets are ‘okay’, nothing to write home about, but a nice accessory and collapsible for easy storage. I am very impressed with the quality of this fishing net and bucket set. The nets are very sturdy and well-made. The handles are well made and telescope out to get longer. The buckets are what I was expecting, but still of great quality. It's a great set and well worth the money.

The telescopic handle is quite tight, but I don't think that's a bad thing. If you don't pay attention while closing it up, it seems like it may bend, but I haven't had that problem and I'll update if that happens. We will be using it for butterflies and minnows, and the buckets are a nice touch as well. They take up little room when folded up and easy to store. ... show more

My daughter has been wanting to go fishing so I decided to order this to add to the adventure tools for when we do finally go. She was very excited and happy when it came. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this as it is much better than expected. I really like that the buckets fold down so it's easy to store and doesn't take up too much space. This is a nicer set than I anticipated. The nets have sturdy handles and are much longer than most kids beach nets. The buckets fold and that makes them easier to toss in a beach bag. Very high quality net and bucket. The telescoping net is the nicest kids net I have seen. My son is into catching bugs and butterfly's and this net was perfect for that. It's ok. With all of the weird colors, this is definitely marketed for younger kids. My son is using this to get some bait fish from the retention pond to bring over to the other bigger stocked pond. It is not a far walk so this works. The buckets are very small, but at least they have handles.
