The media could not be loaded. As long as you don’t get too aggressive on your carves, this bit slices well. It performs well and you can’t beat the value. Easy to use and switch between roughing and finishing.

I bought it to cut splines for small boxes. It cut perfect splines with no tear out. I’ve used straight bits and other carbide bits that did not work as well. This one worked for me.

I got this to cut some dados when I was making a little number plate for my house. It cut a perfect quarter inch slot into some wood to put plexiglass into. It came super sharp. This is a 1/4 straight flute router bit. We wouldn't call this an actual O flute, as O is supposed to be sharpened to a polished mirror finish. This is sharp, but it isn't quite the mirror finish we see on high end O flute mills. That can be super important, especially on certain engineering materials like UHMWPE. This left a melted burr in that, where other O flute bits have gotten us 100's of hours before melting the material. Since this is advertised as a router bit most people are probably going to be using this in wood and not on a CNC machine. For that it's fine, but we're be on products living up to their claims. O should be mirror polish and this simply isn't. ... show more

If you're just dipping your toes into routing, this set is a solid pick. It comes with four bits that pretty much cover your basics. Started using them today, and let me tell you, they're way better than those cheap engraving bits you usually get with small engravers or hobbyist CNC machines. The ones that came with my little desktop guy kept snapping their tips, even with easy cuts and slow speeds. But these new ones? No issues so far (granted, I've only cut two small pieces of thin oak and messed around with scrap PCB board and copper for about 6 hours, so I can't vouch for their long-term durability). They left the oak looking smooth, and the PCB came out clean too. Had a bit of a struggle nailing the right settings for copper since it was my first go, but it worked out decently and would probably be even better with more know-how. I guess soft stuff like copper behaves differently than the usual hardwoods and steel I mess with. Haven't tried them on plastics yet, but I'm betting they'll do the job. ... show more

Akylin manufactures awesome tools at a great price point. I do a LOT of finish work; building kitchen and bathroom cabinets, bookcases, etc. Do alot of inlays and these bits help immensely in producing a quality finish. These bits last longer and keep their edge. Finished result is awesome, smooth with zero or minimal burrs. Most of the bits in my collection are slowly being replaced by Akylin items. ... show more
