  • Dang...
Color: Blue
After 45+ years bombing the hill, grinding up the passes and having daily yard sales because the damn kids are faster than me now...and I don't like it (plus the fact I'm pushing 60 and just don't have the youthful strength anymore due to injury and the ever loving arthritis), I decided to buy an e-bike so I can still enjoy riding yet not kill myself in the process of my enjoyment. After a long and exhaustive research project, yes...project (the prices on some e-bikes equate to the price of a nice used car, finding one in my budget and my expectations was quite daunting) I finally settled on the Fengqs Q8. I chose this particular 21 speed, 750W bike because it was as close to my regular mountain bike as I could get, other than weight (I think mine is probably 50-55 pounds Vs. my 22 pound Trek. I've stripped as much as I can get away with) and seat post height, it performs just like my old bike, it's definitely a looker as well with its blue accents. Upon checking out I paid my $815 ( $699+$50 S&H ((no Prime here)) +$65 tax) and was told it would be up to 10 business days to receive the bike...no problem, I've plenty to do. Working in the garage on the Saturday prior to delivery week when the lady comes down and said "you got something at the door." Huh? To my surprise the bike had arrived 4 whole days before the first stated arrival date, ummm YEAAA. Had to blink a couple times...SOOOO, awesome delivery. Bonus! So far, so good. Just looking at the box I can tell it is packaged well, even FedEx was impressed and said it was one of the lighter ones he's delivered. If all products were packed as well as this bike was, there would never be any damaged goods arriving at our doors. So far, so, sooo good, really good, I'm now impressed. Big zip ties, frame completely wrapped in foam, lots of tape...it had to be cut out of the box to lift it free. Wow, I cannot wait to ride this thing, Once I had it out and unwrapped, the assembly was a snap and in 10 minutes I was sitting on my new bike. After the inaugural ride I reinserted my eyeballs and combed my hair back forward...Holy sh...smokes this bike hauls ass, some minor adjustments were needed. I am an accomplished mountain biker so I know what I like and how I like it set, that and a touch OCD, so things must be right. I found it necessary to adjust the following from the factory settings: -Brakes and shift levers needed pitched forward, my wrists don't bend backward in the direction they are factory set. Philips screwdriver and one of the Allen wrenches, you gotta look up underneath them, and that problem was solved quickly with a few turns. -Throttle needed lowered, I was afraid I would break it off with it so high. Turned it so it didn't stop so abruptly where it was set. Now I can feather it and such with more ease. I would prefer a ring type throttle instead. -Both Derailleurs will need to be tweaked, especially the front. Lots of online videos to accomplish this. -That seat, good grief this ain't a beach cruiser and your photos show fully armored people ripping down mountains with a seat my grandmother uses on her 1950's Schwinn cruiser. I changed that to my mountain biking seat, much better, I'll save the one sent for my grandma, she may need a new on someday :) - I also chose to not mount the included phone holder, fenders, lights and I removed the kickstand, I kept hitting my heel on it. I also tuck cable ends and I zip tied a couple things I thought needed securing better...It's that OCD thing. Otherwise for the average rider this bike is just fine straight out of the box. I will ride this off road more than on, so all that fancy stuff I just don't need, I need a stripped down version I can get muddy and dirty, something I can get back out and play like i used to, just not have to work so hard to do it. I like that, I missed biking. Pros: -Easy assembly with included tools, took me about 10 minutes, will take the average person who knows what a screwdriver and an Allen wrench are about a half hour. -Looks great, love the Black with a Powder Blue accent. -Not overly heavy, appears to be well constructed and pre-assembled. -Nice cushy front suspension with lock-out for road riding -Display is very nice and easily reached with left thumb for adjustments. Has MPH and ODO, which i like. -This thing screams...30mph on 5 on a flat with only the bike doing the work, I weigh 175 pounds, 5'-10". I bought the 21 speed because again, it's what I'm used to, however at full clip my legs are spinning so fast I almost hit a parked car. Good grief. I cannot keep up with the power of the bike pedaling, so I just keep my feet moving like I AM pedaling, yet moving faster than traffic...it's hilarious fast. I'm not sure even a 28 speed (if there is such a thing) would allow you to even catch a pedal, meaning provide SOME work. I love the speed but find I use it on a lower pedal assist mode so I can help. Level 5 is warp speed, pedaling or not. -For the price it has all I wanted and then some. It's a really nice bike and I am happy with it. Cons, or shall we say, do betters...they don't break the bike, but it could be better: -Brakes. They are mechanical and make the most god-awful squealing sound I have ever heard. I set them proper even cleaned the rotors to no avail. I am going to have to find out how to clean and adjust them or it will drive me mad. I would go with hydraulic disc braking on any bike...less power required to stop and they don't make much noise. Downside is the fluid, leaks and blowouts do happen. -Crank length is a bit long for my liking. I wiped out pretty good going around a corner pedaling, I've never done that on my regular bike. Maybe more of a "watch out for?" -Put a normal seat on it. -The "high end component" claim (its even stamped on the seat stay) is a stretch. Shimano makes many components for bikes and I have ridden the very best (Shimano XTR is pro level and their best offering, aka high end)...Tournay is not one of them. Tournay is an entry-level component found on budget bikes and is in the category, by Shimano themselves, of "basic" componentry. I guess a sacrifice had to be made somewhere but don't claim its a Ferrari when in reality its a base Ford Mustang with a V-6 and no power windows...Still pretty good, but far from "high end". So, don't be fooled by that. I had trouble getting my front derailleur adjusted and bunged up the chain-ring guard because the factory set threw it off. Works better now after adjustment. Rear needed a barrel tweak and it works fine. How long will they last and how much punishment can they take is the question. -Instruction manual is pretty vague for a guy like me and for an $800 electric vehicle one would think a comprehensive manual would be appropriate. Pictures don't tell me anything, technical info would be more helpful. Very little online and YouTube is vague in which bike I want to get info on. So a lot of "in the dark", technically. -I would prefer a throttle ring over a thumb tab. I can see that thing snapping off, which is why I lowered mine. All that "high end" stuff would jack up the price significantly, so for what you pay, this bike is well worth the money and so far I am pretty happy with it. I may come back and add to this review as I encounter challenges...or not. No news is good news, right? If you've been searching for an e-bike until your eyeballs are popping out, stop here and get this one. Heck you shoulda seen the big comparison chart I had going...lol...I'll save you the trouble with my review.... Buy the bike. Put the bike together and go enjoy yourself...I am. ... show more

  • Fastest non fat tire ebike
Color: Red
I wanted a non fat tire mountain bike style ebike that went as fast as a gas scooter/moped. This did not disappoint. I can maintain 28 mph at with 280 pound load om flat ground GPS confirmed. The speedometer on the bike reads about 1 mph higher then the GPS app I used was showing but that is no big deal to me. It's got an awesome punch of power immediately when you hit the throttle unlike some others that have a delay. It's only around 55 pounds incuding the the battery 51 if you swap the heavy but very comfortable seat and remove the kick stand! The battery life is impressive especially for such a light bike. It seems extremely sturdy much nicer beefier forks then past ebikes I have. They are also adjustable and can be locked. The seat and design can accommodate tall and short riders. The brakes are great when set up properly and broken in a bit. The bike looks great. The flat black looks really good in person and the modern mountain bike geometry of the frame just looks really nice to me. ... show more

  • Incredible Deal
Color: Red
This Bike is amazing. My spouse thought I was getting scammed when I told her how much I spent on it. At around $775 It is an incredible deal. I ordered the Bike on Saturday, and it came to the house the following Saturday. Some assembly required. The assembly instructions need some work; however, the assembly was straight forward. All the tools needed for assembly were included in the box. As you can see in the picture, I got the Red one. I have since ordered a helmet and lock, then I got a bag to mount on the back to carry the lock. I use this bike for street riding and some light trail riding. The motor is smooth when it engages. I have gotten mine up to 28 or 29 mph on the road with decent pedaling. The Bike performs well as a straight 21 speed bike. The Derailers are top notch and shifting is simple. Aside from the seat height, almost no adjustment was required for the bike to run smoothly. Very satisfied. ... show more

  • Fast
Color: Blue
I got this bike because it is pretty cheap and because I was hoping it would be fast, it didn’t disappoint and I am able to zoom around at a quick speed. I was able to fit on the bike too, and it didn’t feel like it was going to fall apart on me at high speeds and it slowed down really quick too. The battery lasts a decent time, I haven’t had any problems with the battery. Quality is nice but I did have a popped tire, but got it changed right away. Great bike so far, lot is fun, the horn is loud too haha, which I like. ... show more

  • Doesn’t Work - Return Shipping Carrier Doesn’t Exist
Color: Blue
This product is a scam. The bike does not work. While the battery is fully charged, the LED lights on the panel state the battery is dead. The motor will also not engage even with the pedals. When I requested a return, the carrier that is required doesn’t even exist.

  • A very good bike for the money spent.
Color: Blue
This is a very good buy if you are wanting a good fast e-bike for an economical price. The set up is rather simple. Nice mobile phone charging option on it, speedometer, lights etc. So far has met our expectations. We do have some noise when applying the brakes but with time that might subside.

  • Very happy with our purchase
Color: Blue
I have spent quite a bit of time looking at different ebikes and their reviews and finally decided on the Fengqs for myself and my wife. Initial assembly of the two bike took about 30 minutes each and fine tuning took an addition 60 minutes for both. I was expecting a greater amount of time in this process based off of Utube videos from similar ebikes, but they did a very good job on their end to make assembly a breeze. Once the batteries were fully charged we took them out for their first test run. We did not install the batteries on that ride, we basically needed to get familiar with the shifting of the gears and the response of the bikes, and to say the least we were very happy with the ride. Installing the batteries we were amazed on how fast they responded in petal assist along with throttle control. The top end is very impressive and we can't wait to take them out for a longer run, and if everything holds up to specs they will have us as customers for a long while. Thanks again. ... show more
