  • Great for Stainless Steel surfaces
We use this tool with the plastic razor blades to clean our fermenters and it works brilliantly.

  • Very useful for removing trim and other jobs on delicate surfaces
This scraper/blades combo is the same size and shape as a standard razor-blade scraper. I haven't tried, but I believe you can put these blades in another scraper meant for metal blades, or you could put metal blades in this handle. This tool works very well for removing emblems and pinstriping from car finishes. If you are careful, you can completely remove them without leaving any scratches. If you are too aggressive you will leave some blemishes. However, I have found that these can be polished out fairly easily. It is impossible to put any deep scratches in your paint with these. The plastic blades will bend or dull out before you do any real damage. Its a nice safety factor. I'd rather wear out a couple plastic blades, rather than go too hard with a metal razor, and have to touch up the paint, or redo the whole panel. With light-moderate use, the blades will last a while. You can go at least 10 mins of continuous scraping before you need to swap it out. One blade can take off all the pinstriping and/or all the emblems from a car. the other good thing is that the blades are reversible. If one side wears out you can just turn it over and use the other side. Unless you are using this thing all day every day, 25 blades will last you a long time. I've used this tool on about 10 different projects over 6 months, and I've only gone through 4-5 blades. ... show more

  • Safely Removes Tree Sap, Bug Splats, Bird Poo
I wash cars for a major car rental agency. I use one of these to remove various gunk that gets stuck to our rental cars. Some kinds of bird poo are very tough to remove -- the birds eat fruit and it sticks to the car like cement. Dried bug splatter on a car that's driven to L.A. and back is also challenging and normally would require the use of a volatile solvent chemical remover, but plastic razor blades do it just as well and with no toxic chemicals. I like the shape of this scraper tool much better than others I have seen. It's a bit longer and more ergonomic, so it's easy to grip firmly while also using as little force as possible against the car's finish. You can even remove tree sap with these blades. The trick is to get the sap hard, either by putting an ice cube on it for a few minutes or doing it on a cold morning. Once hardened, the sap comes off in chunks instead of being gooey, and with this scraper you don't have to worry about gouging the finish. One caveat: the screw knob on top will come all the way out if you unscrew it too far, and the top part of the scraper's clamp will come off, as well. Don't lose them in the trash can like I did! Replace blades often -- they're cheap and it's not worth trying to eke out another job when it's dirty with tar or old sap. The blades are two-sided, so you can take it out, flip it over, and have a clean edge again. ... show more

  • Gets the job done and no collateral damage
I saw these while looking for replacement scraper blades and decided to give them a try. They don't have the "razer edge" of steel blades, but as a scraper, they are proficient at removing all kinds of stickers, labels, and goo from every surface. Even better, they do not scratch or cut "tender" surfaces. ... show more

  • Great Plastic Razor Blades for Getting Clear-Bra Off Of My Car
These plastic blades were a lifesaver for helping me to scrape off the clear-bra on the front of my Lexus. The car had it installed when brand new and it's 4 years old now. The clear-bra front protection looked horrible on my car. Using these blades and a heat gun (with a lot of patience) helped me to remove (with a lot of elbow grease) the bra from my car. I used some chemicals too as even though the clear-bra came off from scraping with these plastic blades, there was still a ton of glue stuck to the car underneath that also required a lot of hand cleaning to get it off. All in all, these blades worked well. Get the big package as I did because after using them for a little while, they tend to break and you'll need a few depending on how large the size of your project is. ... show more

  • Sturdy!

  • Fantastic and worth every cent!
I'd been struggling to get a foil-backed parking sticker off of my car's bumper -- to no avail. These stickers don't respond to the normal bumper sticker methods, like heating with a hair dryer. I could only peel off tiny strips with my fingernail. Things were not going well. I did some research and found several people who recommended using plastic razor blades to remove foil-backed stickers. I'd never heard of such a thing but it was inexpensive enough to be worth trying. Within about 5 seconds after my plastic blades arrived, I had the sticker off. It was amazing! Then I used some Goo Gone to remove the remaining glue, and the bumper was like new. No scratches to the car whatsoever. These are a wonderful item to have around the house. (Next we're going to try them to remove stickers from my mom-in-law's fridge.) ... show more

  • Works OK
I purchased this for scraping up crud on prefinished hardwood flooring, assuming it would not scratch up the surface and yet still remove bits of crud from my less than neat use of glue and drywall mud during home renovation. The reviews were generally positive at the time, and it was relatively inexpensive. I figured if the plastic blades did not work that well, I could always use it for metal blades. My suspicions were about half right I would say. The blades do not really have the strength for removal of glue on the wood surface, and did a so-so job on mud bits (which are more easily removed with a wet sponge). Since the floor is that pre-finished stuff that is made with heavy duty alumina, I really need not have worried about metal blade damage, if done carefully. That stuff is tough, taking solvents like mineral spirits, alcohol, and even acetone with ease. I definitely do not look forward to having to sand it down, and hopefully will be long gone before that is needed. Getting back to the review, I do find the plastic blades acceptable for scraping of other things, like labels off appliances and such, saving the surface from damage (with solvent even easier), and the holder works with the metal blades too, giving a nice cushioned surface for less hand pain. Recommended with reservations. ... show more
